Maybe it's "I Want It All Part Two" as IWIA was said to be inspired by Anita tending to say it. But yes he did say in interview Ford handed him the slogan to work from.
Great song, particularly as (apart from Star Fleet) it was his first solo effort.

When Brian sings 'Everything I do is driven by you', do we think he's saying he's motivated and inspired by her, or that he's domineered by her?
That's the beauty of Brian's lyrics - rarely can they be seen a single way.
Same trick in Dreamers Ball with "you used to take me dancing, just like any other boy."
He is criminally underrated as a lyricist.
"We touch and you're afraid of me and
We burn and now I'm at your feet
High speed, but you know you're in safe hands"
he's the one driving the relationship. and everything he does, does it for her , so I think he's motivated by her
Indeed. I'd forgotten to also consider that the lyrics present both perspectives - the second chorus has 'You say, "everything I do is driven by you"' - so it's quite possible that it has different meaning at different points in the song. (Not at all unlike the two perspectives in Sweet Lady, with the second verse opened by 'You say...', or in Brighton Rock, with the character switching indicated by the octave jumps).
Brian certainly did like to repeat phrases and have them evolve throughout his songs, like in Sleeping on the Sidewalk with all the variations of being hungry and wanting or not wanting to go home, or the echo of 'Take care of those you call your own, and keep good company' at the end of that song; a principle the character is told to live by at a young age, yet he only truly realises its importance once he's old and alone.
