Hello,
I was wondering if anyone can advise me of the most cost efficient way to collect all Queen albums in the 2011 two disc format?
HMV currently have them priced at £16.99 each and there are a few on eBay for a little less. I know there are anniversay box sets too but they can get a little pricey.
So can anyone tell me of the most cost efficient way of obtaining these discs please? Any information will be very much appreciated.
Also, if you already have the old single disc remasters, do you think they would be worth holding onto?
I think the best way is to get those 3 "Queen 40" box sets, (which is what I did!)......I just looked on amazon, and they have them for under $40 (US) each, not bad for 5 two-disc sets! (Cheaper than I got em for a few years ago!)
I think the 2011 remasters sound pretty good, but I really wasnt able to compare them to the older ones.......I've heard varying opinions on which ones sound better......
It would have been kinda nice if they had came with more extras than a tiny poster, and in something better than a cheap cardboard box.......but still a good deal!
edit: I was looking at the reviews of those box sets for no particular reason......love how one person gave volume 2 a one-star review because it didn't have Bohemian Rhapsody on it.....awesome.........
I think it's very bad how you can get the 2011 remaster albums on their own but not the bonus discs. I'd love to get the bonus discs as I already have the albums, which I'm sure a lot of the fans do too.

I thought the extras that everyone wanted was the bonus disc.

I mean it would have been kinda cool if there had been something extra in the box that you couldnt get with the individual 2-disc sets.....(I thought they could have done better with those bonus discs, but thats another story)

Well I was interested in getting those tracks but if you don't think they're all that, please tell all.

Well, there is some very good stuff in there, not officially obtainable elsewhere, so I'd say they're worth getting....
The De Lane Lea demos, both versions of See What A Fool I've Been, the few non-album b sides, BBC version of Spread Your Wings, instrumental SSOR with original ending, acoustic Dreamers Ball, DSMN with extra guitar, Feelings Feelings......

Okay so what did you mean by you thought they could have done better?
Well, that I thought they could have had more than 5 or 6 songs on each one, and I could have done without the live tracks that were already available elsewhere.......

I agree with you on that. I feel that if I get these, they will release something else in the future with even more extras but with the whole albums attached (which I already have) to bump up the price.
