Hello Queenzoners! I may be wrong, but Paris 1979 video hasn't been shared here before in such quality. It's a well-known merge of two nights (28.02 & 01.03). One camera pro-shot. Timecounter version. Raw transfer from VHS (DVD structure): link |

So. It IS possible that Kurgan's recording could be bettered. I know my own recordings varied from year to year depending on where I was on that damn Pontins site, and when Channel 5 started broadcasting, they were plagued by interference as can be seen on my Hammy 79 that was shared a long time ago. I've still got proper video capture equipment, so if Antiden wishes to send me his tape, I can capture it to a DV AVI, clean it up a little and do a proper edit with the other source. Much better than messing about with mpeg2 sources. |

Barry Durex 19.01.2015 15:47 |
It is possible the VHS tape has two sound tracks, HI-FI and linear mono (although they would both be mono) The linear mono track might be a better option (if you remember the FM DoRo documentary audio problem) but would probably have slightly more hiss. It depends on whether a HI-FI or mono VCR was used to make the copy. |

Thank you antiden. Sharing a videotape from your collection is a great thing by itself, whatever the quality. As you probably understand by now, the video is not the best. However, the audio may become the best, after some corrections. Can you upload a lossless audio? The Real Wizard spotted the potential of it, but the result of his work depends on the quality of the source. AC3/384 is not horribly lossy, but still it is lossy. |

I compared the QTV with this one and the differences I can tell is that antiden's version has more colour . Qtv version looks cleaner but maybe because there's some processing in it. Maybe if we can get antiden's version be enhanced by ChiefMouse, then we could compare both properly. At least this version stays in my hard drive too, so thanks for it ! |

Marknow 20.01.2015 15:06 |
So we all agree that this has better audio and colour, it is a new source and the other version looks better but probably because of processing.
