Hi guys.
Just to let you know, those of you who may be interested in the Universal remasters, currently Universal Mexico is having a sale on double albums of many artists (including Queen and Metallica, among others) 2 double albums for aprox US$10.00 - US$12.00
The Queen albums are the regular album along with the bonus disc, only the studio recordings, so no Rainbow or any other live album included.
So far this are the sets I saw:
I/MIH
II/SHA
ADATR/AKOM
Jazz/The Game
Flash Gordon/Innuendo
So far I wasnt able to find the rest of the albums but I was told by the staff of different stores that its the full studio discography. The prices vary from store to store, the cheapest price US $10 the most expensive US$12.00
Im pretty sure those of you who live in Mexico may find it cheaper.
For those of you who dont live in Mexico, Im sure you should be able to find them online easily as the prices are set by universal and not by a specific record store.
Those are some weird pairings of albums! You'd think they'd do I/II, SHA/ANATO, and so on..........just to be logical if nothing else! lol.....
Uh, wait a minute, there's 15 albums.....that aint gonna work, unless they're putting The Cosmos Rocks in with something....
I found them on physical stores, that's why I didnt posted any link. Let me take a look at some record stores to know if they have this sale on their sites as well...

I was told the Q+PR "albums" are part of this promo, but none of the guys at any store are familiar with their albums, so it may be CR and a Queen album or perhaps a Queen live with a studio record, I dont know.
Still, I was told the sale would end on Jan 30 2015 so I have plenty of time to look for the rest of the albums.
That was going to be my next guess, that they'd put Live Magic in with a studio album. Nothing else would work, because the rest of Queen's live albums are 2-disc sets....or maybe the 1-disc version of Rainbow, I forgot about that one.........
Not that I have any interest in buying those, but I'm just fascinated by stuff like that........what gets released in what form wherever.........sounds like a hell of a good price for 2 CDs with the bonus EPs, though.

So far I havent find those promos on the stores' websites (something I kind of expected as they usually dont have updated information) but I used to work a lot of years ago in one of them, let me see if they have a link so you can buy them directly from them or from Universal Mexico.
Thanks for the info. Are these repackaged sets or just sets of 2 double cds that are sold together? Do you know if the sets have new cataloguenumbers?
Have you bought a set? Could you post a picture please?
Thanks.

Yes, I bought a set, the one with II/SHA.
No, they dont have new catalogue numbers, they are the regular 2 cd sets wrapped in transparent plastic, they have a new bar code which is just a paper sticker but once you remove the plastic film you see the regular albums without any change.
Im going to buy another set today, as I wasnt interested in buy them but since they are so cheap I might as well buy the whole discography. I will post pics from the record store too, cause, as I told, its not only Queen albums but double albums from most universal artists both mexican and international.
Thanks for the reply. Could you please write down the barcode for the set that you have (and for any other set that you can find?)? Looking forward to the pictures.
Ok, here it is, its just a small picture so you can get an idea who the set is made. As you can see they just took 2 cd's and wrapped in plastic and put some kind of christmas-like sticker.
I found something really funny: The GN'R live album is packaged along with Metallica's St Anger, lol
The bar code is: 7509967904114
It seems to be a generic promotional code as I was about to picture the code from the Queen sets and they all have the same code.
FYI, I bought the albums on a store named Mix Up. I looked for the sets on their site ( link ) and couldnt find any info about the sets, so you may send them an email or directly contact Universal Mexico.
Any questions, feel free to contact me.
I didnt noticed the forum didnt uploaded all the files, I took some pics to one of the sets so you can have a closer look at how they look:
This one is the set just like you can find it on store, the next pic is the set without the additional plastic film (you can see they are the regular albums)
