Sad news today in Glasgow, just one year after the Clutha helicopter crash :( link
I had just left the area when this happened, and saw the aftermath on my return from Edinburgh. Absolutely shocking, disturbing scenes.
My thoughts are with the families and friends of all involved - and brilliant work from our emergency services to make sure that the totals did not rise.
That's why I try to hide under the duvet a lot, noorie. If I hadn't left when I did, I could quite possibly have been one of those poor people. You never know the minute!
Yeah, but when I realised that, it was the opposite for me. Any minute could be it, so may as well live life to the max. (Now I sound like a cigarette or beer commercial!)
BTW, I am super glad you are safe.
That was so sad to hear on so many levels. Still, I'm glad you didn't get hurt, though that's small comfort to the families of those who did die there. Last I heard, it seems the driver of the lorry suffered a massive heart-attack and lost control of the wheel. It's terrible, but you just can't stop things like that from happening...but it's even worse when this kind of tragedy strikes at a time of joy like Christmas.

Thank you Thomas. It is a sad time indeed, just a year after the Clutha helicopter crash.
And not made any better by silly little facebook groups such as "God Hates Scotland", which totally mocked the incident the other day. I reported it to the police, and thankfully it was taken down (although not sure if that was public pressure or the police involvement).
It also turns out I knew one of the lost. She was a teacher at my little niece's primary school, so lots of little upset children too. Some of my friends knew the lady who was one of three from the same family to be wiped out.
Sad times indeed - and the driver is still alive. If he pulls through, I can't imagine what will be on his mind. My thoughts are with all of those involved.
