Me on Queens lack of a USA presence here presently,,originally written at QueenOnline.Com moments ago..
For introspect...it cost me all of $9.95 USD to make my current single a single available to ITunes, 7Digital, Amazon.Mp3 and over 30+ other digital distribution sites courtesy of link so I highly doubt Queen would have a hard time releasing any of the three "new" songs as a single here in the USA, it's not about money, they can afford $9.95 as I did two weeks ago for the song "Teddy's Song" which has no radio play but thousands of downloads and streams since it's birth in October of 2003. ReverbNation.com of whom lists Queen as having in excess of 28 million current fans world wide and that is only based on fans of whom frequent RevebNation so that total is most likely much bigger.. The next biggest band around is U2 and they fall way short of Queens mark. Springsteen & KISS both have double digit millions of fans but again, for a band that hasn't released anything new since "The Cosmos Rocks" here in the states back in 08, I mean with original material and no supporting USA tour, Queen by far rules the roost globally to this day...But bear in mind, Queen, U2, Springsteen & KISS are listed as my influences on ReverbNation, surely Pink Floyd is poised to break mega records with "The Endless River" and the single "Louder Than Words", leaving Queen "Forever" at the starting line of a race that Pink Floyd really has no other current competition in.
The only other remarkable band coming out with new material is the Queen friendly Foo Fighters and I can believe even the USA mighty FOO's will take a long distance back seat globally to Queen but Pink Floyd is going to rule the roost for the rest of 2014 and well into 2015 without a tour while Queen + Adam Lambert fill arenas in Europe, nowhere near the size of audiences that Paul Rodgers & Queen enjoyed both in 2005 and 2008, capping off a performance in the Ukraine with 350,000 people there and over 10 million watching the show on tv, streaming via the net and listening to radio.
IMHO, Queens only hope of redeeming themselves as quality recording artists is to sadly I write, create anew a full length "balls to the wall- rock and roll" release with Adam Lambert and according to a recent interview with Roger Taylor (days ago) on Female First, plans are underway for Lambert & Queen to enter the studio. Until then, we are going to have to be content with Queen "Forever", "Live At The Rainbow 1974" and the bootleg videos of shows with Freddie in full, pro shot full dolby via YouTube.Com
Just my two cents worth...WK
