Not the super, just the £700 one with the floating bridge.
The pickups are just marked ' Brian May' , and i'm trying to find out if they are still Burns Tri-sonics?
Or are they a cheaper version.
Thanks
I believe the pickups used by BMG are Adesons.
They produce a range of Burns and Fenton Weil pickups using the original winding equipment, essentially producing a hand made product which is the same as it was in the 60's.
They also have the original stamping press so that the product can be stamped ( if they are still producing them) with BM's name. As well as stamping what ever whatever any other range may require.
The BM range they produced replicated the extra windings that BM's original modified pickups had and the reversed pickup.
I don't think the BMG range features any cheap or sub standard components.
That's something I wanted to ask too...
Also, Ive been thinking about buying it but after reading a dozens of reviews Im still not sure.
According to amazon/youtube/musicians' friend (etc) reviews, it seems that there are a few issues with QA. Since I live in Mexico (near Texas) I could just go to the USA and buy one but since there border is a very dangerous zone (and a flight would cost as much or twice the price of the guitar) Im not too sure if it would be a good idea to buy it online (which would be very expensive, BTW)
I know there's always a risk that the guitar itself could be damaged during shipping, but so fa, most of the issues I have read are quality issues.
