If you are curious to know the truth, here it is, The truth came down into this world in person and crucified itself at the beginning of time, so that in no time to come can any person be crucified ever again for being truthful. The way came down into this world in person and crucified itself at the beginning of time, so that in no time to come can any person be crucified ever again for following the way. The life came down into this world in person and crucified itself at the beginning of time, so that in no time to come can any person be crucified ever again for living the life. Sadly, the only thing that has been defaced worse than the person of god is the word of god. But the good news only gets better. This is just the appetizer, for starters, and you cannot even begin to imagine the meal that the truth has spread out for you, should you choose to have it, it will come to sup with you.It only culminates with your exit out of this fools paradise, and your entry into the kingdom of heaven. Of course, if you are looking for the truth elsewhere, the only unalterable and unchanging truth that you will discover the hard way is "Some things are worth stealing, and some things aren't worth giving away". If you must know, even God himself had to fall back on, and take recourse to the truth, in the person of his son, to try and save this degenerate world of his. Like in any family, the future and the hope of both the mother and the father always rests in their son, and what a peach of a son god has ! In this case, at least, whether they like it or not, the son is way better than both the dad and mum. I wonder who wouldn't want you to even know "about the truth",if not know "the truth". If you need more convincing, just say this phrase "the one true god is ...", either in your mind, or utter it loudly and what is the name that instinctively and automatically pops up both in your heart and in your mind, who you know for sure is the one true god ? Blessed are you, Queen, for heaven and the world have not revealed this truth to you, but it was revealed to you by God the father who is in heaven, and it is upon this truth, which is the solidest rock that the son has founded his kingdom and the gates of hell cannot prevail upon it. Sorry, just venting out some steam. Though god cannot take second place in any one's heart, and there cannot be another "rock" or another "star" or another "idol", in anyone's life, I'm sure I will be excused for being a fan of Queen, always. |

Oh great, a Jesus-freak. Just what our rich blend of mixed nuts was missing... And for the record: this historian says Jesus is a fictional compound-character, mostly based on John the Baptist and a handful of 1st century BC / early 1st century AD self-proclaimed Messiahs, and a good deal of modelling after the Mithras-cult. Anyone who takes the Gospels literally doesn't know the first thing about the religious views of early Christians. |

Here is the argument, The truth will never crucify you. The lie will always crucify you. So if someone is crucified, that person must be a liar. So Jesus, is a liar. No my dear, read again and not in between the lines this time. The exception is the truth which chose to crucify itself, ahead of time for the truthful, so that in future no liar can attempt to crucify the truthful. You might resort to lying, but a lie cannot support you or defend you.It cannot do anything for you. It does not even exist. You have concocted it.So you have to do everything you can to support it and to defend it by concocting a mountain of more and more lies. You are crushed by the weight of your own lies. You have crucified yourself by lying. It is more work than what it is worth and certain death. |

since this is what we were all thinking about..... Col. Jessep: Son, we live in a world that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinburg? I have a greater responsibility than you could possibly fathom. You weep for Santiago, and you curse the Marines. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. That Santiago's death, while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives. You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that wall, you need me on that wall. We use words like honor, code, loyalty. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said thank you, and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon, and stand a post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to. I would rather not dignify these nitwits with a response, and the Lord knows , none of their tripe merits one, but it is not for these pack-of-wolves that I plant this sign-post cum grave-stone, but for possibly the one lost-sheep who still cares for the truth. TAKE MY WORD FOR IT. The only "followers" of that nut-case, John the Baptist are the rocks like "you lot", which he can turn into his "believers". God once born as a human, lived and showed humans, by example, the way to their salvation. Irrespective of the order in which these two events are mentioned in the Gospels, the true order is this. 1) First Jesus was tested and tempted by the devil, including being offered all the kingdoms of the world on a silver platter(typical of the devil to trade something he does not own). Jesus had to contend with the devil and vanquish him. 2) It was only then that Jesus was filled with the holy spirit in him, and was Baptized, as God wished, by both honoring tradition and breaking it at the same time. In this world, there is both the real-deal and the counterfeit. The Baptism by John which involves dunking in water is the false baptism. The baptism by God , at the same time openly proclaiming "This is my chosen one and beloved son in whom I am well pleased", and granting Jesus the holy spirit which descended upon Jesus like a dove never to part from him is the true baptism. At his point, please read JOHN 3 "Jesus and Nicodemus", the whole section. For Jesus' own opinion of John the Baptist read MATHEW 11 "John the Baptist", followed by LUKE 7 "John the Baptist" . Here, I would also suggest(I am not sure which gospels and which section in them) reading on what gives Jesus the right to do what he is doing. I do not recommend any version of the bible, but if you want to be truthful, the truth has already sought you out. Hang on to every word of Jesus for dear life. It is alright for you to chew the cud, but it is far better to let the cud chew you. It is alright for you to play music, but it is far better to let the music play you. If this seems like asking too much of man, it is exactly what God expected out of his own son "born" of him. Could he demand less of man, who is not "born" of him ? Jesus himself had to choose between worshiping God and worshiping the Devil. Salvation comes free, yes, but it is not cheap. Life is not a joke, Salvation is not a rite and a ritual, Heaven is not a cake-walk, and God is not slighted. Of course, you may choose to ignore the truth at your own peril. After all, if a lizard or a lizard-man, can scurry on still water, why do you need the son-of-man to saunter on stormy water ? |

If you don't even understand, from a purely theological point of view, the difference between God being tempted by the devil and Jesus being tempted by the devil, you're not just an idiot, but you don't understand the fundamental Christian teachings about the double nature of Jesus/Christ. Your disparaging remarks about John the Baptist also suggest that you're one of those so-called Christians who don't know the first thing about Christianity. I bet you don't even read Hebrew and Greek. Bottom line: you're probably one of those ignorant converts who think they've 'found god' and want to spread the word when they don't even understand what they think is their own religion. Bottom line: you're probably one of those ignorant converts who think they've 'found god' and want to spread the word when they don't even understand what they think is their own religion. "Pater dimitte illis non enim sciunt quid faciunt"Sorry, it was not god who was tempted, but Jesus. Secondly, one might have a split personality at best and both would still be human , but not Jesus. When Jesus was born, he had to forsake his Godly nature, and become human, he was 100% human, and had to earn his salvation, and become God in the end, when he was resurrected. So, if you are human, which I seriously doubt, you can be "born again" too, by simply following Jesus, but the world cannot crucify you now, neither Muslim nor Jew can, since Jesus has paved the way for your salvation, provided you follow him. I have never been in a church, and thank Jesus for that. I am neither a bought convert nor a paid theologian. I do not need to be, since, all of these are at sea. In the words of Jesus, "Father, I am glad that you have hid these truths from wise and educated people and revealed it to the innocent". Yes, I do have my own a complete mathematical theory with proof, that I accidentally discovered, before stumbling upon Jesus which startlingly agrees with every thing that Jesus has said , including, for example, precisely what happens with every action-reaction cycle, "For those who have, will be given more, and those who have not will lose what little they have", which by the way is a couplet that needs to be applied concomitantly. Do you know, that there actually is a cross there ? Do you know that the entire Kingdom of God is in your own body; that everybody both literally and figuratively have to bear their own cross whether they like it or not. I fear, I have said too much. When I found out a few scientific truths independently and found that the only person who actually embodied them was Jesus in person, I was shocked. I only wished to reveal and disclose some of the final conclusions, cause Jesus himself forbids keeping quiet about him, but to tell about him. I am also aware of the exact pact that Jesus has made with man, which man has to follow for his salvation, including for example, which path to avoid, and which path to take, and so on. Of course with your scientific acumen you can deduce this yourself, if you just stick to the Gospels, and stick closely to what Jesus says, you can put the pieces together. But I do not want to stir up a hornets nest, nor have my way with it, but have dedicated it to Jesus for him to have his way with it. So kindly treat me as an ignoramus, and end this discussion here. This should not fall into the wrong hands, certainly not Jew or Muslim, both traitors to the true faith. This should neither be up for grabs, nor up for sale to the highest bidder, only privy to whoever is true, be they Jew or Muslim, or even Christian, or anyone who is willing to be true to the truth and follow it. If I have unwittingly hurt the sentiments of these religious groups, I beg their forgiveness, but I would like these very same people to respect my sentiments in this regard, and leave me alone. Do not pursue me. Pursue "Jesus" instead. Only he can save you. |

You are clearly one of those born-again Christians. You're so full of your faith that you've completely lost track fo the fact that you don't really know what you're talking about, and you're easily tempted into hurling around insults left and right. You're turning the subtleties and complexities of a whole belief-system into a few simple soundbites - in fact, you are essentially breaking a commandment. By reducing your religion to such simple platitudes, you are one of those worshiping "carved statues" - the "dead letter" rather than the "living word". You are a prime example of why I have so much more respect for the Bible than for the imbeciles who (ab)use it - you simple don't understand any of it. |

You just don't get it, do you? You come on to this forum out of nowhere, blasting your sectarian-religious propaganda at us, practically ordering us to change our beliefs to match your current beliefs exactly. Then, when we don't all just convert straight away but instead present criticism of the 'arguments' by means of which you wanted to convert us, pointing out for instance how some are theologically inconsistent, you slither into the defensive and have the gall to come up with this: "If I have unwittingly hurt the sentiments of these religious groups [TQ:not how you don't take into account the possibility that anyone who's NOT a member of a religious group could be offended by your posts], I beg their forgiveness, but I would like these very same people to respect my sentiments in this regard, and leave me alone. Do not pursue me. Pursue "Jesus" instead. Only he can save you. " So now you're accusing US of intruding on YOUR freedom, disrespecting YOU and 'pursuing' [sic] YOU - an exact reversal of the actual, true situation. That is rather outrageous. |

For as Jesus, declares, For those who have(show, exhibit, use) any good sense(reason), will be given more. For those who do not have(neither show, nor exhibit, nor use) any good sense(reason) will lose what little reasoning capacity they have. You can also flip this around, For those who have(show, exhibit, use) any bad sense(illogical reasoning), will be given more. For those who do not have(neither show, nor exhibit, nor use) any bad sense(illogical reasoning) will lose what little illogical reasoning capacity they have. In every thought you are either rational and not irrational, or, irrational and not rational. Which means two things always happen simultaneously, If you are rational and not irrational, You gain in you ability to think rationally and at the same time lose in your ability to think irrationally. But if you are irrational and not rational, You gain in your ability to think irrationally, and lose in your ability to think rationally. My mistake. Jefffabiano is only pretending to believe in God and his religion. He is a sociopath, and often they pretend to be religious. It makes a good cover and then they can pretend to follow rules. But they don't care about rules!!! It is an attempt to fit in with other people (to fool others). If he truly believed, then he would think/know that God was watching over everything he said and did and he would be very afraid of God's punishment. The fact that he is being obscene and vile (as usual for him) is proof in itself that he is a fake. And we all know how vile Jefffabiano is. Jefffabiano said he would stop, then he said he would go away. But a sociopath can never be believed or trusted to keep their word. They tell lies all the time. |

Atheism is not a belief system. It is the ABSENCE of a belief system. It is an acceptance of the natural world as it is presented to us. Atheists have every right to have more convictions than religious folk because their convictions are based on observable and repeatable evidence. As I stated earlier, people with ideas of invisible men in the sky have the burden of proof. No agnostic, atheist or non-theist is required to disprove any such proposition. They are correct until proven otherwise. Religion has stood in the way of human progress for millenia. Literally half of the last 2000 years were a standstill, almost purely because of religion. And we still haven't fought it off completely. We have a long way to go. no belief system = a belief system |

brENsKi wrote: we may be disagreeing over semantics - but "not believing in God" is exactly the same thing as "believing there is no God" - hence (in this instance): no belief system = a belief systemIndeed, semantics. And they are incredibly noteworthy semantics. There's a stark difference between taking a formal position and not taking one, hence the difference of the terms "atheist" and "non-theist". Non-theists tend to be umbrellaed in with atheists. In fact, "non-theist" could imply you have other religious leanings that that involve something other than some sort of theism. Even still, the overwhelming majority of atheists don't practice their atheism in some formal way. They made a decision once and they move on with their lives. This does not deserve some kind of classification. And what if someone has never heard of a concept of an invisible man in the sky? Sure they can't be labeled an atheist, or as anything, really. If I've never heard of guitar playing, you can't label me as anti-guitar. And if I've heard of guitar playing and simply don't feel like playing, it doesn't mean I'm taking a formal position on the matter that needs branding. I'm just simply choosing to play the flute or be a poet instead. I don't get why religion is viewed differently. Calling atheism a religion or belief system is like calling abstinence a sex position. |

i take your point. but everytime some "nutjob" like Jefffabiano comes forward spouting shit, then any atheists that counter his "religious" viewpoint have temporarily ceased to have "moved on" and are by default practicing their belief by challenging his beliefs. Hope that adds a little clarity to what i was trying to say before. |

Hope that adds a little clarity to what i was trying to say before.Indeed, it does. But it still depends on how they do it. Simply stating that the natural world exists is an assertion of reality, not a belief. Being religious and not being religious aren't equals. One requires blind acceptance of a proposition, and the other is an automatic acceptance of reality as we ALL see it. You don't see atheists telling religious people that they're going to burn in Detroit for eternity because they don't share their unprovable belief of the flying spaghetti monster. |

People should not fight about religion(s), that's what I think. This thread was nonsense to begin with but now it's plain ridiculous. Why were you being so rude in first place, Jeff? You're not really getting the message you think you stand for I guess. "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these." "But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;" You should learn to respect others whatever their stance is, it's not up to you to judge them anyway. Some "atheist pricks" might follow the rules I quoted much more than you ever have, ever thought about that? It's just basic humanity for fuck sakes. You may not exactly have to love your enemies (everyone in this thread) but at least shut up or respond with something useful. All this name calling could have easily been avoided. |
