Brian May: "Freddie loved vodka and used to carry a dry ice cooler full of vodka with him on tour. Killer Queen Vodka is the perfect tribute."

I think this is so cool. Yes, it's a shameless money grabbing product. But I think it's a great idea. Surprised there's been no reaction here. It's by Stoli, who make Stolichnaya, so it should be pretty good quality as well.

Once you've tried Russki Standart Platinum you'll never go back to Stolichnaya. Once you've tried Kauffman you'll go into corporate scamming to pay for a regular supply thereof and promptly forget all about Russki Standart Platinum.

Tried the normal Russian Standard, which is about on par with Stolichnaya. Heard of the Kauffman Vodka, which I think costs about £140 a bottle. I'm sure it's very good - but it's not shamelessly exploiting Freddie's name and fame, so it won't be as good as Killer Queen Vodka.
Kauffman costs about €50 a bottle. Steep, but not quite as steep as you make it out to be :-)
Anyway, the difference between Russian Standard and Russian Standard Platinum is like the difference between Smirnoff/methylated spirits and Stolichnaya, so I recommend you give it a try, especially since it's only marginally more expensive than Stolichnaya. I'm sure someone on this forum can whip up a really nice Queen-related label to stick over the orginal one. Throw in some caviar, cigarettes and Parisian perfume and I think you've got yourself quite a respectable fanboy-kit.
