Hey. I bought this boxset when it came out from TV-shop here in Denmark. Pretty expensive. But it had that concert from the Rainbow. I guess this boxset have had a high price among collectors because of that. But now we have the new releases. Excellent! I got mine deluxe box set:-)But what do you think the price for The Box Of Tricks was among collectors now if not the new release had come and what do you think it is now after the release? I guess the price have fallen quite a bit. I dont watch the VHS of the show anymore but i wouldnt sell it anyway.

The fact that it is a different edit would make it more collectable in my opinion.
yeah, and the box of tricks has the 12" collection CD that contains tracks never published in any other cd:
It's A Hard Life (Extended Mix)
Machines (Instrumental Version)
Man On The Prowl (Extended Version)
A Kind Of Magic (Extended Version)
Pain Is So Close To Pleasure (Extended Remix)
so it's still a very interesting item in my opinion!
Well im glad that some one other than me think its still a good boxset :-)
So.... With all this in mind. What do you Guys think its worth nowadays? More or less when it first came out?
I paid £55 for it on release date and have kept my copy complete and in nice condition, it's only been played a few times.
The T shirt is still there too so I would think it's worth quite a bit more than I paid for it, to a collector anyway.

Selling price would obviously depend on condition.
That particular one had a stuck drawer.
That was the HIGHEST price paid. Irrespective of condition, nobody was willing to meet any of the higher asking prices. And plenty have gone for less that were complete with working drawers.
I realise that me providing evidence that the current market value of your precious is less than you'd hoped has made you unhappy, but try not to abandon all logic and reason as a result, ok?
The book does have some nice pictures in it, just been looking through my copy.
This set looks like it's complete and in nice condition, if a little pricey: link
Shabbier or incomplete sets will obviously be cheaper, bust most serious collectors prefer complete and mint condition of course.
