Queen drummer Roger Taylor says Michael Jackson's estate have been "difficult" to deal with over the release of his duet with Freddie Mercury. The band hope to include it on upcoming album Queen Forever, but the King of Pop's estate are said to be dragging their feet over granting permission. link |

Don't give a f##k about the Jacko tracks, they're pretty poor anyway, we don't need them for this album, just quality Queen outtakes ! |
Lord Fickle 30.08.2014 16:31 |
Have to agree. At least they only seem to be looking at one track. |

Oh dear, this is really tiring. They keep changing the story. Initially, I think Brian mentioned possibly four duets, now Roger says it's one. What the hell! Nothing new about the Jackson family, they are all off their nut and it's common knowledge. I hope more than one song will be released. Fingers crossed for "Victory", as it appears to have been the most collaborative effort between them two. "State of Shock" doesn't really do it for me, "More to Life" is quite okay and should benefit from good production. |

Lately all this story sounds like they are just preparing a ballads complitation, they gave us the hint that just one MJ song could be included in it, and I am thinking about the FM ballad featuring MJ. And honestly I don't think it is so easy to release this album within the end of the year. I couldn't care less about FM+MJ tracks, they are just good pop songs, nothing more. Queek ballads compilation? No thanks, I'll definitively download it, unless they do a sort of MIH 2. |
Lord Fickle 30.08.2014 19:00 |
Unless they have some genuine surprises to offer, I think Queen Forever will pale into insignificance, when compared to the Rainbow release. There will be one or two tracks that might be worth having, and the rest will be the usual compilation stuff. One thing that would perhaps be nice is if they could give us the Freddie vocal version of WWTLF. |

just shut up and show me the money... I care less about wacko jacko estate and his greedy family, can't stand his singing anyway, especially the parts where he makes the awful sounds, as if he was constipated and about to drop one to discover than shit ain't coming, so few verses later he makes the annoying sound again. |

I don't think Roger is in a position to critisise the speed of Jackson's estate... Remember that Freddie guy whose songs QP are just now preparing to release? He died almost 20 years before Michael Jackson! It's no wonder the Jackson estate doesn't hand over the release of these recordings to QP... They would be buried in the archive at least for the next 20 years, if it was up to QP! |
Marknow 31.08.2014 03:51 |
Release the album without the Wacko Jacko traks, then leak them online when the album is out. |

Those money-grubbing carnies can keep their tracks as far as I'm concerned. |

I can't stand anything by wacko Jacko or Jackson 5,i have nothing by them in my collection of 2,000 Cd's and if he was on the new Queen album to be honest it would put me off buying it.One of the most overated artists of all time. The girl is mine with Paul Mcartney is the most vomit making song i ever heard on Top Of The Pops.I think that Brian and Roger are in panic moad ,as they have not got enough material to make a good Queen album.Best to leave it alone, let us enjoy the Rainbow set and maybe do an album with just Roger and Brian in the new year if they can write some decent tunes. Its not as though they are skint and are desperate, unless of course the record company are putting some pressure on them to deliver something. |

@ k-m they aren't changing the story... Roger said one MJ duet with FM, as it was previously stated that other duets feature Andy Gibb and Rod Stewart, but I advise this: don't believe it till you see it. Why the hell create new version of Let Me Live when it was officially released on MiH. Of course, there's always possibility that Freddie recorded another track with Rod Stewart. If this is indeed pre-Xmas release then the time of announcing press release of "Queen forever" is really close. I'm curious what the promotional campaign will look like ? Maybe the album itself will be preceded by a single with released track on side A and unreleased on side B. |

Roger is only interested in the MJ tracks because of their commercial potential, but he doesn't actually get to decide what happens with them. I have equal legal and moral rights to claim the tracks on a "Tero!48531+FM+MJ" ep as Roger has to claim them on his rrelease, but you don't see me crying about it in interviews. :P |

So do this mean that the release of Queen Forever is still up in the air and we might not see the release this year?! Was it 2012 when Brian and Roger first started talking about these tracks and about a potential release? You would have thought with all the talk throughout the tour by Adam on stage about this upcoming release and Brian mentioning it in interviews that all these issues would be ironed out by now. Will there still be a release without the MJ tracks or will it put a roadblock up? I can see this going on like the Freddie biopic that was initially supposed to be coming out in 2013 according to Jim Beach. He said that in 2011. Why is nearly everything related to Queen product post 1995 subject to such delays and half-hearted promises that never seem to materialise. I just hope that the inclusion of a few extra tracks on the deluxe studio albums in 2011, and the release (finally!) of Rainbow (which has been put together very well BTW) means we are seeing some change to QP. |
Lord Fickle 31.08.2014 11:53 |
I can't see it being released this year, as it would be too close to the Rainbow release, which is far more interesting. |

I really can't stand Jacksons voice! And next to the maestro Freddie he sounds worse still. By all means add TMBMTLTT to the album with just Freddie's vocals, but leave Jackson off this album! I've heard State of Shock and it's dreadful!!!! I cannot believe that they're aren't enough unheard tracks in the archive that aren't good enough to be worked on?? |
MercurialFreddie 01.09.2014 09:40 |
We're still few months before the planned release (X-mas) so we can write to BM and suggest using FM only version of There Must Be More To Live Than This. Completely muting or removing Jacko vocal track shouldn't be hard for them and it could be the only way to release the new mix and hear what ideas BM + RT + W. Orbit put into it. |

Orbit put into it.If they've gone through the trouble of remixing the version with MJ, why on earth would they remove his vocals? Because a handful of fans prefer the track without MJ?? They're in it for the money, and the easiest way to make the money is by combining the potential market of FM and MJ. You don't have a say in it. |
MercurialFreddie 01.09.2014 12:42 |
Well, I didn't write that because I don't like TMBMTLTT with MJ vocals but because there is a possibility that the Jackson estate didn't give QPR green light to release the track. If the whole album will be postponed because of that, then removing MJ's vocals could be a way of avoiding postponement. |

Is anyone else getting less and less enthusiastic about this album ? its just dragging on and on......yawn !!!!! |
EDWOOD 01.09.2014 15:16 |
I think they'll be hoping for this album to have commercial success internationally and not put just in the UK and typically 'Queen fan' countries like Holland (for example). Let's face it North America has been inundated with Queen 'Hits' collections recently, even moreso then in the UK. They've only just had 'Queen Icon' in the US and Canada (which surprisingly has done quite well here and has been in the top 25 album charts for months). There was Stone Cold Classics when QPR were on American Idol, A-Z of Queen released in Walmart and then of course Classic Queen, Greatest Hits I and II, Platinum Collection and Queen Rocks and Queens Greatest Hits (which was the 1992 version that sold around 7.2 million copies so far). The only way really this album could break out there and elsewhere is to have as many 'new' tracks as possible. Genuine MJ vocals will be a big plus no matter how bad some Queen fans think his voice is. Whether we'll see this in late 2014, 2015 or later is anyone's guess... |

well, Brian, Adam and Orbit said late this year, Christmas time. but the latest comments from Roger when he said he doesn't even know what's on the album yet, kind of tells us it's still ways off. My guess is spring 2015 |

My guess is spring 2015Do we know if this was a very recent interview with Roger? I am assuming it is, but you never quite know as the written media do have a habit of picking up pretty old quotes and passing them off as 'new and exclusive' interviews, and as Roger was quoted saying a similar thing about the Jackson Estate several months ago, I wonder if this might be another case of rehashing?? |
