What do you think was Freddie's best and worst live performances?
Best for me might be We Are The Champions at live aid.
worst for me might be We Will Rock you at Fukuoka 1979,Or Liar at San Fransisco 1977.
These are not best live shows,it is best song performances vocally.
"White Queen" from "THE RAINBOW 1974" was mega
as freddies vocals were superb.
I would say there is a lot of songs from "Live in Rio" dvd which freddies vocals were terrible, but they did do a lot of work over there and his throat did suffer.
Save Me from Rock Montreal was pretty great.
I've never been a fan of Sweet Lady live; Freddie often struggled vocally and changed the melody, and the band going into their 'Cream-esque' power trio stuff never did it for me on that track (yet I loved that on other tracks like 'Liar' around 1977).
The best....everything I heard at Wings Stadium in Kalamazoo, Jan '77 and Nov '78. Nothing, by any band, has come close to these to performances.
Best concert for a Michigan resident: Detroit, Sept 1980.
Due to the Lions adopting the song, AOBTD as an encore, with Freddie wearing the cap, sitting on top of Darth Vader's (or was it Superman's) shoulders, set the arena on frickin' fire.
The worst....'Body Language' in Detroit, August '82. It followed the guitar solo, and if you listen to the bootleg, you can literally hear the air getting sucked out of Joe Louis Arena
Best is White Queen from Rainbow 74, worst is a tie between Wembley and Budapest in their entirety. Queen was less interested in being a bad ass rock and roll band at that point and more interested in playing the pop hits which did not for a dynamic concert make.

Love hearing these first-hand insights.
That said - the Lions' cap in '80 was for Dust, while the Darth Vader gag was for WWRY in the second encore. But I understand, it was many years/drugs ago ;)

Well....I was pretty close to accurate;-)
Gawd........I wish there were audio or video bootlegs of the Kzoo 77/78 and Detroit shows (other than the '82 one).

Yeah, that is a pretty darn great one............Save Me from Wembley 12-8-80's gotta be right up there, too........not only does Freddie sound good, there's some lovely piano by Brian.....
Save Me from the Crazy Tour is excellent. Stuff like Radio Ga Ga from Live Aid, A Kind Of Magic from the first Leiden show, My Melancholy Blues from Philadelphia 1977, and You Take My Breath Away from Edinburgh are also some of the best.
