Last night, 6/6/14 I took my daughter to see one Direction at Wembley Stadium and just felt a little sadness that Freddie never got the chance to perform at the new stadium, he would have been in his element, I was sitting day dreaming about having a stage through the middle Freddie strutting his stuff awesome thought and sad

Next best thing, I can see Brian & Roger, maybe John having a farewell concert next year.
But its been done. The FM Tribute concert was also a farewell concert .
It was not mentioned as such, but i bet it was in everybody 's mind.
It wasn't in the bands mind, they went on to finish MIH and perform live with Elton John. In a conversation, just after the tribute gig, with BM I was told "we will continue the Queen line, although at the moment it's hard to imagine doing anything
for a while"
That doesn't point to a thought that the gig was a farewell. And remember JD was still actively involved at the time.
Yes very much so, it was a fitting farewell to Freddie and it brought the Aids issue to a huge live TV audience, who although may have been aware of it, possibly thought it was quite removed from their own lives.
It was never Queen saying goodbye.
I think we are losing the point here. Queen went on with Made in Heaven,Elton etc. But the period of Queen as we knew it ended with that concert.
Now its a new era and Queen may be active with various projects for a long time. The post Mercury era of Queen is actually longer in that terms and perhaps another 20 years are ahead...who knows.
So doing a farewel now it will but like what? Farewell to Lambert , Rodgers e.t.c era? Dosen't make sence.
I think, you think that way 'cos the upcoming album "feels" as the last Queen album.
But even that is not the case.
Queen may be digging in their vaults for quite a long time from now .
