Lambert fans seem to be less inclined to become traders and the past has shown they share their recordings with pride in a way to try to showcase A.L. live. I think the 2012 shows in Hammersmith were covered very well by A.L fans and I expect they will out do us again. Do enjoy the show would be my advice, don't get hung up on trying to record material, especially video, as you might miss the joy of being there, which is the point of it I think.... |

When I see people watching the concerts through their phones, while the performers are right there in front of them, I have to scratch my head. I want to be immersed in the experience of any concert I'm at, not be focusing on the technical minutia. Concerts are an emotional, sensation-filled experience, meant to be lived in the moment. That being said I sure do enjoy being able to watch the concerts online that I have to miss irl. My only issue is to hope that videographers don't interfere either with the performers or the audience in this pursuit. Also, no matter how much I see online, and no matter how good it is, I will definitely be purchasing an official DVD if one becomes available. |

I could never record a show, cause I am hollering and singing too much. I am very appreciative of those that do, though. I don't even like to take pics. Good thing I'm married to someone who does.. |

Good thing I'm married to someone who does..Me, too! I was close to the stage at a Duran Duran show and pretty much missed the show because I was looking at it through my camera, trying to get a good shot of Simon LeBon! Won't do that at this QAL show although I might go a little nutty if I am pretty close to that catwalk in Auburn Hills! |

Yeah Adam fans are far more likely to record. Many fans even stream the live shows when they can. Adam fans share completely so it should be pretty well documented. Copies of all 6 QAL gigs from 2012 were available fairly easily... |

The Lambert fans. I remember a so called queen fan at their walk of fame induction. He would not share a single photo of that day via email when I politely asked (these were the days when ppl would even upload stuff online pre tumbler but close) maybe trade with the few shots I got (I was an enthused KID at the time) What a c*nt! (*a dude no less) I'll gladly share my photos etc of a great concert (of course if the quality is good) |

It's people like you that made me decide not to share a single tape/video anymore. Do the work yourself. Buy expensive gear. Take risks. Tape concerts. Lazy cunt. |

Fair enough. It's gotta be mentioned the WAY the dude said it. I met a few people who traveled to see them that day, shared photos with those guys (2 from Japan), one dude with a burns replica. The point I'm trying to make is that there was either kindness in the group or just weird dismissive people. Second time seeing Steve Vai. Met Nuno who was kinde enough to give an autograph. It's been a while but I've shared video and events on YouTube. Alas many were short lived due to being mostly Prince and Stevie wonder concerts. Intend on doing something for the upcoming tour. Pardon my use of the word c*nt. Maybe it WAS inappropriate. |

IMHO if we're talking about *consistent quality* recordings, Queen fans will likely deliver in that department. Can't put a guarantee that the Glamberts won't be screaming all over their recordings. |

One woman who calls herself Suz526 gave us high quality videos all through the Glam Nation tour and even traveled to London for the Hammersmith shows. I wonder how much she enjoyed the shows looking through the camera lens, but she was very generous of herself in providing those videos for the people who were not able to be there! link |

An Excelent thread, but the main question should be? out of all the 26 dates who will be willing to sneek a recorder in & recorded them, so that these gigs don't get lost to the depth of time? 2005 Q+PR (Europe + a few dates worldwide) covered :-) 2008 Q+PR (Europe + a few dates worldwide) covered except Dubai :-) 2012 Q+AL (Europe) covered :-) 2006 Q+PR (North America) Let Down :-( Come on Guys lets not make this year be like 2006. |

If Queen is strict about that, then there could be a problem with the QAL vids. If Queen isn't strict on this issue, they'll all be available online. I've never heard of any great material that hasn't been made public to all the fans within Adam's fanbase. |

When there is a multi-city tour like the one coming up or back when they toured with Paul Rodgers, they should make it their business to have one show professionally recorded for the fans. At the Hammersmith 2012 QAL shows there was a guy right up on the stage filming, but then nothing ever came of it. Whatever is available from those shows were by amateurs in the audience. |

Whatever is available from those shows were by amateurs in the audience. This summer tour will definitely be recorded. MSG is a no-brainer, but i believe that maybe another show will be recorded for release. The LA forum is very emotional for Brian, so ... we'll wait and see! I expect Queen+Adam Lambert to release a DVD of their American tour .I also expect an album by these guys in 2015. Adam will have time to focus on his solo career and then he can have a go in the studio with Queen. It's just the next natural step. I just find it strange if they don't release nothing BEFORE the tour. It would be a great time for the Hamersmith 2012 DVD. Oh, and i'm expecting some great professional footage from the Japan and South-korea concerts too. Nowadays, it's a common place for festivals to be aired on TV, plus expect some great TV shows about Queen+Adam Lambert in the weeks before the shows for promotion, both on Japan and South Korean TV's. An example would be this: link :-)) And, since Queen like to threat their Japanese fans with a local "Live in Japan" release, maybe we can also expect a Japan only release of their shows there. They did it with Paul Rogers, and i'm guessing they will do it again. The Japanese music market is very unique, and that is great for music fans in general, because they end up with alternative products for the Japanese market. On a final note, i still think that they will come to tour Europe - they have to do it, right?- and maybe South America. Hungary, Brasil and Argentina are very special for Queen, so i assume they will want to have a go there one more time. Very special times ahead of us, for both Queen+AL and their fans. Ten years from now Adam will look back at this time of his life and realize that something very special was happening. And it will be special for both Brian and Roger too, because i think they didn't expect it to happen again. I'm really looking forward to all the unfolding of this. As you can see, i have lot's of expectations :-) |

Thought I'd offer an update on my recording gear situation: So recently I finally got a Roland R-05 recorder, and today I've ordered a Sound Professionals SP-BMC-3 omnidirectional microphone set and a Microphone Madness battery module box to replace the SP-BMC-2 set with the same MM booster box that went to tsskiller a couple of years ago. Which now makes 3 Queenzoners who have a Roland / Sound Professionals combo recording setup (Gregsynth being the 3rd - and hopefully he'll get his Q+AL ticket soon!), which should make for some awesome 96/24 recordings to come :) That being said, I was disappointed to learn Sound Professionals no longer offers croakie mount assembly service, I have to now assemble it myself once it arrives. Hope it's not too hard to figure out... |

inu-liger wrote: I'm not confident about sneaking in video devices, and plus I'd rather be able to focus entirely on the show itself :-)I was joking about the video, and was asking about the audio but i guess i know the answer :-) You're right about the video, when i went to see Queen+PR in 2005 a friend of mine taped almost all the concert on a digital device. I couldn't understand how on earth he was willing to see those guys through a fucking camera when they were right there in front of him. In the end he lost the file, because he couldn't opened it. He read on the internet how to capture a long video instead of small videos like it was supposed to do (2005) and in the end everybody got screwd because people couldn't open the file. It serves him well! For me, i remember when Roger started to play "I'm in love in my car" i was thinking that this was a moment i wanted to remember forever because in my youth i never thought i would witness such brilliance. So i had to chose following Roger on the side screens or looking directly at him. Well, i chose to look at him directly because i had been seeing him on screens for fifteen years already :-) Great memories, and i hope to see the guys one more time if they come to Europe. |

Quick update: My microphone set arrived yesterday. Just waiting on the battery module box to come in, and then I can give it a proper test run to ensure proper operation :) Despite my hestitations about video recording, but I'm debating renting a GoPro Hero+ 3 camera and just clipping it to my shirt now that I discovered Long & McQuade carry them. Anyone have any experience with those? |
