This is no rare footage : Freddie Mercury - The Great Pretender (Gegen Willy Show, 1987) but is it actually his last TV appearance right?
The Barcelona (La Nit performance) may be a year later but this was an event covered by tv, not a tv- appearance per ce. The same with that Queen-award "Best Band of the 80s".
Nothing special here just a bit unlikely for his global status.
* Gegen Willy Show : Vier gegen Willi (1986–1989), West Germany TV Series - Comedy | Family | Game-Show
^...and I can definitely remember what my father said back in the days ( the whole family was gathered around the TV) " Oh what a clown"...and by today's perspective, I have to admit that he was a bit "overacting" at that mimed performance.

He used to overact when he mimed. Same with that Montreux festival. He was all-over the place... haha. Still i enjoyed it.

How about the 1990 Brit Awards? I thought it was televised?
Yes, i mentioned it above (Queen-award/bset band of the 80's) but as an "event covered by tv", not an exclusively tv-appearance.
You are confusing two things. Best Band of the 80's award was presented by Jonathan Ross and the ceremony took place in1989. Freddie had a beard. The Brit Awards took place in February 1990 and Freddie was clean-shaved and very ill looking.
