I've always thought Queen would do one last gig at Wembley, perhaps a last ever gig under the radar of Queen in a similar vein of the Freddie Tribute concert with different singers trying to be the Freddie of the night. If that happened (and I do think it will in the next couple of years) who would you like to see involved? While my list isn't necessarily who I would LIKE to see sing Queen songs, it is just who I thing would be invited by Brian and Roger:-
Katy Perry
Robbie Williams
Dave Grohl
Taylor Hawkins
Axl Rose
Slash (wishful thinking with Axl)
Elton John
Keane
Mel C
Gary Barlow
Alice Cooper
My Chemical Romance
Lemmy (wow Stone Cold Crazy would be fantastic)
Lady GaGa
Alfie Boe
Paul Rodgers having a fight on stage with
Adam Lambert
Marc Martel (not sure, don't want a Freddie impressionist
Anyone else?
Metallica would be more fitting to play Stone Cold Crazy being that they won a grammy for it lol.
John Deacon of course would be the ultimate inclusion.... But if he did do that.... It may end up not being a Queen farewell concert, Roger and Brian may try tempt him to do more concerts and a supsquent album after they realise just how much they have missed his amazing bass sound ;) If John had stayed on after the only the good die young recording.... Could Queen ever make it as a three piece...? Both Brian and Roger are great vocalist's
Iron Maiden!!!!! esp since Steve Harris said John Deacon and Queen in general was one of his main influences... Imagine a Steve Harris John Deacon jam!!! although a Cliff Burton John Deacon jam would be something I'd kill to see.
Hey many pop stars have Queen as their main influences.. But why not try make it mainly a rock act.... Def Leppard GnR David Bowie, Led Zep, Metallica Deep purple, Elton John.... Main bands that started off with queen or influenced them and bands that stated Queen as their main influence...
It will never happen. Queen try new things, they don't repeat events or read over the same chapter. That is why we never saw bo rhap 2 etc etc
i would like to see it happen but i wouldn't hold my breath.
I'm still not 100% on the logic of 'they don't want to play with an impersonator/impressionist', mainly in reference to Marc Martel.
It's like this - he's the guy for the job, at this point in time. He can sing the songs the way they were written to be sung. We're just deliberately not hiring him now because he's too good for the job? We should hire singers who *cannot do the job*, simply because they sound less like Freddie and being accurate is a crime now?
I fucking give up - if Queen do have a farewell outing, I'm not even sure I'd torrent it at this stage. Not really sure I'm keen on hearing the Latvian X-Factor finalist fuck my favourite music like it's Jodie Foster on Pinball Night.
Would love to see them do something with Marc Martell, and would expect Roger to be up for that, just can't see the doc being so compliant. We have to be realistic with these things, they ain't going to ask Tim to do Wembley, Bowie wouldn't turn up and Metallica again after there Freddie tribute mess? No chance. It would be a mixture of the old guard of Elton' possibly rod Stewart and the Katy Perry's and lady gaga. Muse, darkness, fun , dappy even (god, NO) might be possibilities though

I've been thinking what I would love to see happen (not that I think it would) is for Brian and Roger to say to hell with getting a singer....bring Spike Edney and get a bass player (since John aint gonna do it apparently!) ........Queen as an actual four piece BAND again, not Brian and Roger and singer x.... and whoever as touring musicians.....

I like this list, apart from almost all the people on it. Grohl, Hawkins and Alice Cooper can stay, perhaps Elton too. Paul can stay too as long as he doesn't sing any songs with "ooooooooh" in them.
You are probably right though, this is probably the sort of dreck they would invite.
The King Of Rhye

Queen haven't played live as a four piece since Montreal in 1981. If they did as you suggest there would be a lot more pressure on BM and RT. Having to sing lead and play.
