Hi Guys
was wondering if anyone had any opinions on Brians Best Delay Solo from the 70's and 80's?
was looking for possibly the best one from bootlegs and ones that were actually filmed?
Cheers Guys
David
Far too many to mention. You'd be best to listen to a bunch of them and pick out your favourite moments.
His solo is best enjoyed in stereo, so the Rainbow and Hammersmith versions are excellent. Milton Keynes reveals how much he'd evolved, and the second night at Wembley is a perfect summation of what makes him so brilliant at what he does.
From memory I recall he did some crackers in 84, particularly in Birmingham.
But nothing tops the classic perfection of the Live Killers version.
I can't recall the exact gigs, but many of the Japan 76 shows had Brian extracting some clamorous bell tones at one stage and then led into the traditional song 'Sakura'. Some amazing stuff to be found. I also enjoyed when Deacy and Roger came back in for Son and Daughter; RT going ape-shit with JD growling down the bottom and the curly one playing rhythm guitar like Pete Townshend on steroids.
Brighton Rock solo on Live Killers is epic. Actually, all of that record side is a great showcase of Queen's live skills even if we know about all the overdubs (DSMN's intro, etc.) Don't Stop me now, Spread your Wings and Brighton Rock. Awesome.
