According to Rhys' interview the MJ collaboration tracks are planned to be released next year
...which is a clever way to carrot-dangle:
2012: They'll be released in 2013.
2013: They'll be released in 2014.
2080: They'll be released in 2081.
So on...
Well, initially I'd heard about them being released on the second posthumous album of potentially unreleased Michael Jackson demos/tracks... They were (press rumor?) Allegedly told that there would be a forthcoming album of DUETS since the initial project "MICHAEL" failed so miserably. (Tons of the songs sounded fake and thin, uninspired, often "finished" by adding extended vocal takes of "ha's" and "ah's" from various other hits.
With their success from re-releasing BAD and the forthcoming BAD 25 film by Spike Lee, its likely they've scrapped the Duets album planned, and well... They missed a perfect tie in time to release these somewhat pre-Thriller cuts.
I doubt the estate would allow the release something seemingly exclusive by QUEEN; although maybe that's what's happening right now? Red tape discussions? Revenue splits? Who knows?
The rumor was even broad enough (AGAIN) to get national coverage on a segment of Entertainment Tonight (in the US)... Probably being the first time Freddie's been seen on American tv since his death.
With the film (sbc sucks::::cough:::cough) being pushed back to 2014, a release with that doesn't seem likely either.
So barring a weird xmas single, where does this track fit in?
Its been almost 11 years since I heard of a "Queen anthology"- but that's not come to fruition either so... All joking aside.. Where does this release tie in?
