Hello!
I'm working on a school "Queen-project" with my band. We're going to do a couple of concerts where we'll play some of Queen's songs.
My theoretical project about Queen, though, is to investigate what people around the world thinks about Queen's music. I have a made a survey that I hope some of you would like to answer.
Some of the questions might not fit in this forum since I understand that probably all of the members here like Queen :) But I would be very happy if you could answer the questions you feel like!
Thank you!! :)

1.Do you like Queen’s music?
If yes: why?
If no: what is it that you don’t like about it?
Yes, I do like Queen's music. I like the instrumental section more than the lyrics.
2.When did you hear Queen for the first time? The first time I knew I was listening to Queen, I was 10 years old. Obviously I had heard WWRY and WATC before, but I didn't know who the group was.
3.How often do you listen to Queen today? Every day. One song a day minimum. If I don't, I don't listen to music (by choice) that day.
4.What songs do you especially associate with Queen? Other than Boh Rhap, WWRY/WATC, YMBF, AOBTD, DSMN and the rest of the core Greatest Hist catalogue, I would have to say... everything on the first five albums, and last two.
5.Beside their music, is it anything else you like about Queen? Freddie's voice, Brian's guitar playing, Roger's voice, John's mysteriousness. (I guess the same way people felt about George Harrison while he was a member of the Beatles.)
6.What do your friends/family/colleagues think of Queen’s music? Everyone I know personally likes Queen. They either liked it before they knew me, as is the case with my family, or after they first knew me, as is the case with all my friends.
7.If Queen existed today, would you like to see them live? Why/why not? Of course I would. My mom saw them live four or five times. 1977, 1978, 1980, 1981, and possibly 1982. She saw Queen Rock Montreal. She said that those Queen concerts are some of the best concerts she'd seen in her life (along with Rod Stewart, The Rolling Stones and Paul McCartney).

1. Do you like Queen’s music?
If yes: why?
If no: what is it that you don’t like about it?
Yup. The brilliant, often very deep layering of vocals and instruments (guitars, piano etc.), which they did frequently in the 70's, is what really drew me in, as well as Freddie's sometimes bold songwriting style on songs like Bo Rhap and The March of the Black Queen. Also, Brian really knows how to compose an amazing, memorable guitar solo when he needs to, which is often.
2. When did you hear Queen for the first time?
I'd heard Rock You and Champions for a while, and known it was Queen, but the first time I actually started listening specifically because I wanted to was around the spring of 2010, I was about 13/14. I don't know why it took me so long to discover Bohemian Rhapsody, but when I finally did, I was hooked, and that summer I delved more and more into their music.
3. How often do you listen to Queen today?
Daily, if I can. When there's nothing going on, I tend to turn on my ipod and turn up some Queen music
4. What songs do you especially associate with Queen?
Oddly enough, I've found that I've gone past thinking of the obvious songs whenever I think of Queen. When I think of Queen, the first songs I tend to think of are stuff like The March of the Black Queen, The Prophet's Song, Innuendo, and Ogre Battle, all of which I'm somewhat addicted to.
5. Beside their music, is it anything else you like about Queen?
Freddie, Roger, and Brian (and, to a lesser extent, John) are all very interesting people, which can be seen in interviews and such. Also, I'm very intrigued at how not only three of the band members are very talented singers, but how those three voices are VERY different. Freddie has sort of a "normal" lead singer voice; Roger has a rough voice that was useful for generating aggression on earlier songs (he also had a higher range than Freddie early on, so he was used very often in backing vocals, and his falsetto wails are marvelous); and Brian has a calm, breathy sort of voice that's great for ballads (though later on he showed that he could do rock songs as well). The range of different people and talents really intrigues me.
6. What do your friends/family/colleagues think of Queen’s music?
I got my brother into Queen by showing him some of my favorite stuff (Black Queen etc.), so he's only a little less into them than I am. My mom and dad were never really into Queen, meaning I had to discover them for myself. However, my dad at least isn't completely out of touch with their back catalogue; he's had a vinyl disc of their debut album since the 70s, which I play on our turntable frequently, and he seems quite familiar with all the songs on the album, or at least familiar enough to recognize songs when they're being played. My friends are generally out of touch with most of Queen's music, something that I'm working on.
7. If Queen existed today, would you like to see them live? Why/why not?
Derrr, yes. Hell, I'd see +Adam Lambert if they ever came around here (though I'd prefer if it were with someone like Marc Martel or, oh, I don't know, Freddie Mercury). Why? I never got a chance to really see them, and all I've ever heard about them is how amazing they were live. I'm not quite sure what I would do just to see them once.
Well, it seems that we have the North American teenage male demographic down, where's everyone else?

1. Do you like Queen’s music?

I do like it! They have completely changed my life. They give me a whole new reason to exist. If I'm sad, then Queen never fails to cheer me up.
2. When did you hear Queen for the first time?
I was 5, my dad also listens to Queen (more often that time) so Cool Cat, Flash's Theme and I'm Going Slightly Mad were some of my favorite songs.
3. How often do you listen to Queen today?
I listen to Queen everyday for many hours.
4. What songs do you especially associate with Queen?
Mostly the 70s albums and The Works.
5. Beside their music, is it anything else you like about Queen?
They look fantastic and they're great as individuals.
6. What do your friends/family/colleagues think of Queen’s music?
Both of my best friends are total fanatics. My family has a thing for rock, they think fondly of Queen. My classmates don't like Queen, but at parties they always stream Queen as well, just so I could have a great time too:))))
7. If Queen existed today, would you like to see them live? Why/why not?
Of course I would! And Queen does exist! Adam is a great replacement and I respect Brian's and Roger's decision. I also respect Deaky's decision to leave the band and isolate with his family. I am in fact going to see Queen in Paris 2021.
