I'm sure these actual details haven't been posted here yet? ‘Queen: Days of our Lives’ Blu-Ray & Standard DVD content descriptions: Documentary Part 1 – 59 mins Documentary Part 2 – 59 mins. ADDITIONAL VIDEOS – Blu-Ray and Standard DVD (24 mins): Seven Seas Of Rhye 2011: A compilation of all four Top Of The Pops and Rainbow Live performances from 1974 – all unseen Killer Queen 2011: A compilation of two Top of The Pops performances, one the familiar 1974 Christmas Special, the other - discovered in the late British comedian Dick Emery’s private collection, hasn’t been seen since 1974, the original master tape wiped from the BBC archives. Somebody To Love 2011: This is a new edit of the video using the four takes shot on the day, most of which has never before been seen. We Are The Champions 2011: In 1977, cameras filmed Queen recording a new version of the song for the promo video. This video shows the band performing and mixing this unreleased version in two live takes. An instrumental version of this closed Part One of ‘Days of our Lives’. Here for the first time the video can be seen in its entirety. Crazy Little Thing Called Love 2011: A new edit of the video compiled from the rushes including outtakes and unseen angles. Under Pressure 2011: A new video intercutting Queen’s first live performance of the song in Montreal 81 and Queen + David Bowie at the Freddie Mercury Tribute. Covering Smile, finding John Deacon, and the early struggles of the band. Queen On Tour 1974-5: Featuring Queen at the Rainbow and unseen footage of the band touring Japan for the first time. Includes excerpts of ‘Now I’m Here’, ‘Killer Queen’ and ‘In The Lap Of The Gods’ live. Don’t Stop Me Now: Brian and Roger discuss ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’ and the ‘Guitar Version’ discarded by Freddie. Flash Gordon: A short sequence on the making of Queen’s first film soundtrack, ‘Flash Gordon’, plus an alternate promo video. From Magic to The Miracle: In the three years between ‘A Kind Of Magic’ and ‘The Miracle’, the members of Queen went through some life changing experiences in their working and personal lives. This chapter sheds light on what went on behind closed doors. Going Slightly Mad: The Making of Innuendo: In 1991 Queen hit the charts with a No.1 album and single, ‘Innuendo.’ Creatively the band were reinvigorated, their material better than ever, but beneath the surface, they all had to face the fact that Freddie was seriously ill and time was running out. Made In Heaven: Roger and Brian talk about the making of the last Queen album, ‘Made In Heaven’, working with Freddie in his final weeks, as well and working with the material he had recorded after he had passed away and the emotional distress it caused. Looks like they've added some great stuff to the BluRay version. Probably worth getting to see a lot of these things. |

We have been told that the Japanese Blu ray will have more material still, yet this press release doesn't address that.
It does however state the following: "Queen On Tour 1974-5: Featuring Queen at the Rainbow and unseen footage of the band touring Japan for the first time. Includes excerpts of ‘Now I’m Here’, ‘Killer Queen’ and ‘In The Lap Of The Gods’ live".
Is this part of what was initially going to be exclusive to Japan, or something different? Are the I Was Born To Love You and Teo Torriatte videos still exclusive to a Japanese release?
All Japanese pre order sites only have the uk Blu ray as an import and there is no specific Jpanese one to be seen; some sites even show the Japanese Blu Ray as being cancelled.
Can someone like GB or GT please confirm the situation regarding exactly what release will contain the extra Japanese material??! I want to get the release with the FULL content, and don;t want to buy the UK pne only to find it available in Japan a month later. |

Looks like it's time to invest in Blu-Ray DVD Player - 60 minutes of bonus material makes a difference. I just hope it's good! |

I contacted the dutch office of Universal and they told me they have no idea what their colleagues in Japan are up to. Does anyone know whether the Japanese blu-ray is actually gonna be released, region coded and internationally available? I have no intention of buying this release multiple times (like I already did with so many Queen albums and videos/dvd's) so I'm more than willing to wait for another month, if that means I get the most complete release. It also amazes me that neither Queenonline or Universal themselves can answer questions like these. |

That's a bit like saying if you've had 9 bad meals in a restaurant and then get 1 good one you shouldn't mention the 8 bad ones ever again! Nevertheless, this looks like a great release and I'm even tempted to buy a Blu Ray player just to get the extra material. |

That said, who in their right mind goes to a restaurant after not liking it the first 8 times? :-) |

I don't have a BlueRay player and I refuse to buy one purely because QP refuses to add the full content to the DVD. We had this before when DVD's were new, and had a lot more content than the VHS, but there was a good reason as DVD had so much more space to add stuff. This is purely to force people to buy the BlueRay instead of the DVD, and that is something I refuse. Apart from that I think it's a nice release, I'm very curious! |

Dear QPL & Universal.
Fucking NTSC. I live in fucking England, you wankers. We use the PAL TV system over here at 25fps. That goes for Bluray as well. I'm NOT at all happy about having to view yet another release with "drag" on the picture because you're too fucking tight to provide the correct format for the 3/4 of the world who use PAL. |

From Queenonline.com: “As the two documentaries worked so well, we resisted the idea of making an epic 3-hour ‘Extended Cut’. They are always boring, and as Freddie said to his manager Jim Beach in his last days: “Do anything you want with my music dear, but never make me boring! “So rather than simply dump a load of ‘deleted scenes’ onto the DVD and Blu-Ray, Simon and I decided to edit them all with as much love, time and care as we put into the main documentary. ============================== This makes a clear difference between de way these guys work and the policy from QP we have seen over the last few years. |

Why they didn't do the same with Days Of Our Lives dvd? This is just to make us buy a Blu-Ray player...and it's ironic because there's not much on Queen archives that would benefit from an proper HD release. Even Montreal Blu-Ray has the same extras as the dvd. Although i'm happy that we're going to get something new from Queen, i'm very disappointed with this DVD/Blu-Ray extras war. Remember Universal is also a movie studio, so they want to push Blu-Ray sales. Some studios are doing this with home-cinema DVD/Blu-Ray releases already. |

Less discs and more GB capacity. So hopefully no more compressed Queen concerts in the future. This is indeed bad news for the people who don't have Blu Ray. But hell... save some money and you can buy a good Blu Ray player. Big advantage; Blu Ray players do play your old DVD's. I'd loved to see Budapest and the Rainbow released on Blu Ray in te future. |

In this video we see Freddie singing My melancholy blues. I believe this is the BBC version but i had never seen it. Thanks for the definitive info on the Japan release GT. I am baffled as to why there is no Japanese release Blu Ray (all the Blu Ray editions available to order online are the standard International one on import). As a result, only the Japanese two disc DVD will have the exclusive material. It could one of the following; 1) Blu Ray is not as big in Japan? (unlikely, and then why stock the import?), or 2) it's too expensive to manufacture two different Blu ray versions but not two different DVDs?, or 3) it's another scam so that if you want the interviews etc in HD you have to buy the Blu Ray, but if you want the extra Japanest footage (which many will) you have to buy the Japanese special edition two disc DVD too?? There was also a three disc DVD version listed online for pre order named "Directors cut Edition" but this is now shown as cancelled. Gary - can you say what was due to be on this?? Looks like the Japanese two disc version for me then - it has everything from the UK Blu Ray plus the extra Japanese 40 mins or so. Shame, cos I wanted the hi def stuff in the best possible quality. |

The extra 40 mins of Japan only footage is ONLY on the two disc DVD version in Japan, not on Blu Ray. GT's post confirms "DVD" only.
