Anything you say or put on facebook can be used by anyone on their end for any reason, and there's nothing you can do about it - because you agree to the fine print when signing up.
Facebook is basically a place that gathers your information so it can be sent out to advertisers and corporations - disguised as a social networking site.
Other than that, it's safe. But it sure as hell isn't private.
Facebook is the opposite of privacy. They log your every move on the internet - even when you disconnect. Social networking and privacy do not go together at all. I use facebook but I would never upload a private picture, adress, full name, phone number, job or anything private because you cannot delete your stuff from their servers. Even when you delete your account they will keep everything. I am stunned how open and free people post huge parts of their lives on FB. Having said that I enjoy facebook very much, it allows me to keep up with all the people who are not so careful :-))
well, as they say, if you aren't buying something, you are not the consumer, you are the product! They do sell info, and the ads that pop up are scary -- literally as you post something, you get an ad related to it beside your fb. But you don't get spam or anything, and as far as strangers (individuals) accessing your info, you can put up privacy settings... Fb is fun and a good way to keep in contact with people, i love my fb!
