Spitting Image is a British satirical puppet show that aired on the ITV network from 1984 to 1996. It was produced by Spitting Image Productions for Central Television. The series was nominated for 10 BAFTA Awards, winning one for editing in 1989.
The series featured puppet caricatures of celebrities famous in the 1980s and 1990s. British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, American president Ronald Reagan, and the British Royal Family were the most prominent targets.

I discovered that funny show in May of this year. I found out that they were making parodies to some bands and singers, including Queen.
What are your opinions on it? I'm interested if anybody here watches/used to watch it?
I'm currently on the second series yet, but I will go with the rest soon.
It was a great show, I remember it well, but its context and humour (mainly political) was only topical for its time and so obviously looks dated when viewing it now - I'm quite surprised you understand it, Lostman, especially as most of the sketches were digs at British politicians of the time :)
And to give you a little more info, Chris Barrie was one of the voice artists. He is better known as Rimmer the hologram from Red Dwarf and Gordon Brittas from the Brittas Empire. I met him last year, he was a cool guy. I think that Debra Stephenson was also one of the voices, she's the opposite of Barrie..... in that she's quite hot :)
Cool, thanks for that info mate!
The reason why I have started watching this show is two parodies to Queen and Kylie Minogue (have you seen them, btw?). The Queen parody wasn't great though. It would be better if they made puppets of Queen the band, not puppets of the Royal Family (although it still does look funny). But the Kylie parody was amazing! It made me laugh. Especially that moment in the beginning where Kylie puppet is being brought to life in a way like Frankenstein's monster. The Kylie puppet looked that scary so now I'm even scared she can appear in my nightmares. lol
Agree, great programme. If it came back today with our current crop of mp's/scandal it could be on for 4 hours a night 7 nights a week
It would certainly be a ratings winner.
great tv show..........
and what about the vegetables,,,,,,,,,,,,,they will have the same lol..(thatcher out to dinner with the cabinet).
fred was a barman i think?.
Ian Hyslop, one of the two regulars on Have I Got News For You, wrote some of the scripts in the early days of the show. Impressionist Rory Bremner also did some of the voices as well
