Hullo Julia.
I know that you're an avid collector of Queen photos and I was wondering if you could help me out. I was watching TV last week and there was a programme on the Biography channel about Freddie. It wasn't very good and they made some howling mistakes. While talking about Freddie's early life they showed a photo of a man they claimed was Freddie's dad (it wasn't) and called him Bami instead of Bomi. Later in the programme there was another photo of this guy standing next to Freddie's mother and sister so I'm assuming the guy is actually Kashmira's husband. In the background there was a young man (possibly Kashmira's son?). I didn't get a good look but there was a resemblance.
Do you have any photos in your collection that might have this guy in them and if so could you post one to satisfy my curiousity?
Cheers
fatty.
Why am I asking about a an obscure Queen related photograph on Queenzone? Well, Valery my dear friend, that's a perfectly valid question and one I feel deserves a long winded and sarcastic answer.
I originally posted this question to a forum on link where people send in photographs of various skin complaints such as psoraisis and eczema they have on their legs. It was however largely ignored. So I then posted the same question to link a race hate website based in Florida. They were, for the most part, unhelpful to say the least. Over the course of the next few weeks I posted the same question to dozens of internet based communities dealing with subjects as diverse as the zombie apocalypse, dressmaking and amputee pornography. Then a couple of days ago, just as I thought I had exhausted every possible avenue of investigation, I recieved a reply from a lovely lady called Pufflewump775 on link. This is what she wrote.
"Dear Fatty
Sorry I cant help you with the photograph you're looking for but have you considered posting a request on a Queen, or at the very least a Freddie Mercury, based website? I'm sure someone could point you in the right direction. Simples;)"
It was only then that I remembered I had been been a member of Queenzone for more than a decade. I also remembered that Lifetimefanofqueen was a keen collector of band photographs and for a second I considered checking out her facebook page and clicking through sixteen albums of photos. Luckily I have a greater understanding of the definition of the word "easier" than you do and I concluded that it would be "easier" to politely ask her if she knew of such a photograph in the hope that my curiousity would soon be satisfied.
Well Valery, I hope that's answered your question and if you dont mind I'd like to ask you a question in return. Why are you such a prick? I look forward your reply.
All the very best
Your pal
fatty.
That's the one. Many thanks for that GF.
As I said it was only on screen for a second but I got the impression that they believed Kashmira's husband to be Freddie's father who they called Bami and the young guy in the background to be a teenage Freddie. Now that I've looked closely there doesn't seem to be as much of a resemblance but it must be pretty cool to say "Freddie Mercury was my uncle".
Thanks again GF.
Julia, thanks anyway but I've found it now.

There's a channel called the Biography Channel that often plays hour-long specials on famous people's lives, "classic" movies (like Saturday Night Fever) or the careers of certain bands (like the Jackson 5). They're extremely condensed and usually not entirely accurate, mostly because when they do biographies on people like Freddie they can only get washed-up semi-acquaintances to give input for the program since larger figures (like Roger and Brian) would never bother with stuff like that. The biographies are fast-paced and not very good. They're usually not worth watching if it's someone you know a lot about because you don't learn anything you didn't already know. So yeah, they suck, at least if I'm thinking of the same programme Fatty is talking about.
