What is the most beautiful version for you? The studio version, one of his live versions? I have to admit I do love Earl's Court, but that amp exploding ruins it for me, what are your favorites? To me this is one of the most underrated and beautiful of all of Queen's songs.

thats a tough question, i love the studio version, really heart melting, but the live versions seem adorable too. but in the end id have to go with the studio version
P.S id have changed my mind in the morning

Yeah those are probably the closest to the studio too but some of the ones from 1977 were also great or as great. It's one of those songs that works without falsetto and his alternative note choices we're always brilliant.
I think a good alternative to the Earl's Court live performance is the Feb 9, '77 in Boston. I think that's one of his best live performances of the song.

I've always been madly in love with the studio version.
That bass/cello-sounding-guitar arrangement is so incredible. It sounds haunting yet so beautifully crafted.
Masterpiece!

Really? Keep me apprised of when, I'd love to hear the improved quality version!

Yeah, it will be featured on the Deluxe Version of A Day At The Races :)
Sometimes less is more, but this isn't one of those times:
Longer Version > Shorter Version.
Multi-Tracked Guitar Solo > No Guitar at All.
Loads of Harmonies > No Harmonies.
