Killer Queen

Look new fake as fuck.
Dont fool for the story from eil.com that a box of them were recently discovered in 'brand new condition'
Glad someone is finally posting this.
I was telling the same when they first showed up over a year ago.
Killer Queen has a 'new' sleeve wich basically is just a scan of an original. You can tell because the sleeve looks new but has ringwear. It's the ringwear from the original wich was scanned.
It has been discussed several times here. Honestly, no difference can be made between so called fake sleeves and genuine sleeves. Usually, fakes are not that great and there's always a difference between a genuine and a fake one (blurry scan, details missing). I don't have a definitive answer but I think they most likely are genuine as nothing can prove they are fake.
By the way, there are only French Killer Queens that appear strangely. The others are still quite rare.
I wouldn't trust eil.com as far as I could throw them....and as they're a big company in a large building, that wouldn't be too far lol
A while back, they advertised a set of rare REM singles (my mrs collects REM haha) and I wanted to get one of them as a surprise for her as she had always wanted it - they said it was a "major coup, found in a box in limited quantities from a closed-down warehouse". Apparently, it was in MINT condition. When it arrived, the 7" was scratched and the sleeve was bent, torn, discoloured and had stains on it. t was also the last one, and would never be found like this again..... guess what they had another 25 of the following week?????
They've also had a number of contentious "signed" Queen items and, for what I can see, a few booted LPs.
They contacted me personally about a month back, desparate to buy some of my items. I agreed, but then they never bothered getting back. Perhaps they got some acetates and French sleeves in instead?
'm always open to serious collector discussions... so if these singles are fakes people should provide deep descriptions about elements like paper, print details, used colors... etc.... Again another important aspects... do yu think is so easy faking a vinyl??? using the orginal matrix? I'm one of the collectors who bought these rare singles back in the 90's or earlier.. I just got a new copy of the

I just got a new copy of the killer Queen and as it was already told I really can't find any differences from my old copy unless the mint conditions. If this is a fake I suggest that collecting is over..... cause we can have finally a copy of the blue borhap for every single Queen fan....

i went to the last record fair in Utrecht, and a record dealer there from France had like 10 copies of the Killer Queen 7" i ask him about the single, and he told me that he was the guy who found these "new" singles in a garage away from the world for like 35 years, 300 of them or so and resell them to other dealers and thats why they are so commun these days. He assured me they are NOT copies from the originals, told me these are 100% original 1974 singles.
The dealer seem to be honest, hope this can bring some light here..

To me even the Seven seas of rhye appears to much frequently in the last couple of years. And many of them have a spot in the top left corner, over the cat. number.
Well i've seen very few of French SSOR on Ebay and everytime they are sold for 350 or 400 dollars. That's true they all have this strange spot on the sleeve. Nevertheless, it is not the same at all for the French Killer Queens that are widely available on Ebay.
Are these some of them?
I found the picture on the internet a few months ago.
They have different labels (Parophone/EMI). This gives me the impression that they are old singles in new (fake) sleeves.
I think the ones on the picture are some of the singles which are told to come from Spain with rare picture sleeves. They were spread via ebay for many months.
Why are the early singles from France so expensive actually? I mean France is bigger then Germany or the Netherlands and you don't have to pay much money for Seven Seas Of Rhye, Now I'm Here or Bohemian Rhapsody from these countries.
Is it because Queen were less popular in France and that's why there are less numbers of pressings?
best regards,
W.
The first French 7" until We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions are pretty hard to find because Queen has been ignored until 1977. WWRY/WATC was a huge hit but Queen sold very few albums before. Their first concert in France was in 1978 for News Of The World.
Thank you for the reply. I never thought that way but it's true that they start the live appearance in France at a later point and the same goes for Spain.
Good point. Thanks again,
W.
