VHS (Not sure if master or 2nd gen) > Liteon LVW-5115GH+ DVD Recorder
NO on screen logos - pretty sure it was a BBC broadcast
13mins 31 seconds
VOB - MPEG2
AC3 audio
PAL 4:3
477MB
This is all I have of the event in my archive, but it's not bad quality and has HIFI sound
The audio/video fades were applied using mpeg video wizard and the file was encoded using dvd shrink

I think this is the second of the three nights - 21.05.1994.
A year ago I did quite a good job in researching which audio recording comes from which of the three nights but I have already forgotten the hints :-)
Thanks Kurgan100, nice quality!
I have a video of the 21 and 22.05 shows, it maybe don't look as good as this you shared now, but have more footage (Hotei apresentation included, a very nice guitar solo indeed). The "I shall be released" footage of your share (21.05) is equal of mine 22.05 footage, so my video of 21.05 have different footage on the finale. (Mr. Scully explains about it on queenconcerts.com)
I don't know if I was right, but I always considered as 21.05 the video that Yoshiki seats in the chair to introduce Roger Taylor, and in 22.05 Yoshiki introduces Roger standing right at the chair. And about the finale, I have no sure about what is from 21.05 and 22.05! Joni Mitchell start to sing "I shall be released" with a black hat on my 22.05 video, and without hat on 21.05
I don't remember where I got these videos, maybe from QZ or HUB, but I can upload it here.

It is from VHS, but to be honest my current dvd recorder isn't really up to scratch and I wasn't too happy with the results.
I actually reduced the file to half its original size as it just didn't warrant it (it still looks the same)
The overall picture quality seems to be affected when I copy via the DVD AV inputs (cheap circuitry I think)
Sorry, it could be better, but it's the best I can do at the moment.
I wouldn't lie, if it was VCD I would have said.

Hi, thanks for the information. I've been only wondering why are there so many "compression artifacts", the fact that you transferred it with a DVD recorder explains it. My DVD recorder (Samsung) also uses low bitrate.
Thanks for the share again :-)

Kurgan.
I use a DAC100 in line with an A.C.E convertor for replacing TBC signals to get stable recordings into my PC so they can be edited in Premiere.
I'm happy to capture the recording (and/or any others you have) if you so wish to save you sending tapes to Slovakia if that was your thinking!
By all means discuss this with Peter - we've known each other a while and he'll tetsify that I'm "okay"! :)

David's captures are much more professional, I use only my TV tuner card, I am connecting my VCR output to my TV card's input. The result is far from optimal, that's why I have to use a lot of video filters for the final cleanup
Ok, thanks for the info, it all sounds very complicated.
I just tried out my PC TV card and the results seem even worse!
Perhaps I just need a better dvd recorder?

The chances are you've got your recorder set to low bitrate record mode, ie 4 hours on a disc rather than 1?
Does it have a built in hard drive as well? If so, it may be 'that' that is set to a low bitrate record mode...

Reply: No, I used HQ (one hour mode) and used dvd shrink to reduce file size by 50% (equal to 2 hour DVD mode)
