Hiya folks -
been messing around again:
I'm delighted to present to you my very own interpretation of 'Fat Bottomed Girls'!
What you will get to hear is the original track's acapella, plus the obligatory fistful of glimmer to make this sound like some Ultravox-B-side that has never been...
"Prrretty wavey", to be precise. link
This can only be downloaded 10 times at the max, so hurry up!
Put your rollerskates on - and dance like it's 1982!
Cheers from Berlin,
M.
Sounds good. :-)
But the only thing I don't really like is the chorus, I think that it's a different key.
Overall, it sounds great, and it is something different than we're used to. :-)
@Daniel
Yes, you're right - it's the very first line of the chorus that doesn't seem to fit, even though I've tried the same chords as in the original...quite tricky bit, that one.
I'll see whether I can fix that.
Good one, Vonkeil! This would've been a killer in any '80s party :)
Cheers,
Ogre-
PS: The backing track reminded me of a song I like back from those days, by Nena, "Rette Mich". If you are curious, take a look at about 2min15s here: link
I have put it on youtube: link
@Ogre-: Nena, yes...I've deliberately created the backing track in style of early-80s-german NDW-stuff.
But the biggest influence - not german though - has been "Catch me I'm falling" by Real Life. (Fantastic song btw, pretty much underrated and sort of got lost through the years...maybe you'll remember it..)
It's great. Of course, the synthy treatment is very different from the original rock version.
Tracks off Hot Space could benefit from the Vonkeil treatment - imagine an 80's synthy Calling All Girls - make it so :)

Hey, Vonkeil, no, I didn't know this song by Real Life. I don't think it reached Brazilian soil back then. Good one, I like that kind of sound. Thanks for telling us about your influences. :) BTW, Real Life's "Send me an Angel" was some sort of hit back here.
Cheers,
