Has anyone heard the new track from Adam Lambert's album? I'll bet that it is pretty good. I know that I will be getting my copy on Nov. 24th. |

Does his album come out Nov. 24th?? If so, thats the day Freddie died. Also, my half-birthday. Anyway, I won't be getting it, I don't really like Adam Lambert. He's definitely got a good voice, but I'm glad he's not becoming the singer for Queen. |

Good voice just defo NOT a singer for Queen! |

On the contrary, he is going to be Queen's new singer, and personally I hope that they replace Freddie in all of the tracks from 73-91. |

I've preordered the album too. Yes it comes out on that black date of November 24th. I've heard it described as Depeche Mode-meets-Queen. They are very stingy with anything further at this point. Who said Adam isn't going to be the next Queen frontman? ;o) I don't think the way it's going that "Queen" is looking for a frontman, but I'm hopeful for an American appearance with Brian, Roger, Adam and the Queen drum. Hehehe. Call it whatever you wish, but a rose by any other name...............................is Freddie Mercury, come to think of it. OH Gawd, no more roses - please!! |

Yeap, Adam will re-record definitve versions of the whole Queen catalog. Our records will become collectable items and 100 years from now people will think the Adam versions are the original ones. The more informed crowd will know that Adam was not Queen's original singer, he just replaced Paul Rodgers. :) |

I've heard it described as Depeche Mode-meets-Queen. Great. Take one good band and mash it with shit and this is what you get... Adam Lambert!!! |

It's a chance for a great piss-up, provided you can figure out how long a half-year after your birthday is ... I don't know mine, and in fact that's the first time I've ever heard of one. But boy am I going to seize this one by the horns! |

I hope the producers don't just write common songs and make him sing them... I mean, the guy has a pretty cool and unique vision of what he wants to be as an artist and how he wants to be seen, he's proven that in all of his Idol performances... therefore, there's no point in not listening to what he wants. That's the cool thing about him: He's different. Making him sing common songs that any other artist could have... would take out his, you know, "charming" sort of thing. He'd just be a good singer... and that's the point: he's not just that. |

There is at least an album title now: For Your Entertainment. Unfortunately the latest links him with Lady Gaga, who should be Lady Gimmick, as far as I can see. She apparently has given him a song for his album. Perhaps there is more to her than I've been able to stomach at Youtube. As I was working today I reviewed my AL playlist of the AI studio versions from iTunes, including the addition of TFM, and was still very impressed with most of his vocals. I was also listening to Queen later, and extremely grateful that what I was hearing was done before the advent of electronic music. |

Though I don't like everything she does, I absolutely believe she's the real deal and deserves her success. She's paid dues and clawed her way up from obscurity purely on her own talent and drive. She's written for many big names - far bigger than the as yet unproven Adam Lambert. To me Lambert is an exquisitely talented musical theatre person playing rock star dress up. I don't think it's going to work in the long run, but I'd be delighted to be proven wrong. |

Well I will keep all of this in mind about her, though I have seen nothing of her yet that appeals to me or makes me want to see more. I try to be realistic about Adam, though I would like to see him succeed. Whether he makes it as "rock star" or not I think he will succeed in one genre or another. He has gotten the exposure that he originally wanted and now we will see what he does with the opportunity. |

The visual imagery in Paparazzi is compelling and strange and arresting, and I love her acoustic version of 'Poker Face': Amy Winehouse meets Freddie Mercury meets Lewis Carroll's Mad Hatter. Like Freddie, she slips on the skin of 'Lady Gaga' like a jacket, but once on it all seems to bubble up madly and spontaneously from some exotic and wonderful place within. The acoustic clip I referenced...if nothing else it should give you a glimpse of her vocal chops that you might find interesting: link |

First of all, thank you for the link. She obviously has some talent, but I just don't care for the way she is applying it I'm afraid. I thought perhaps without the crappy electronic music that would make a big difference, but I do not care for what she is selling. Obviously there are many who do, so maybe it is an age thing. I have a fairly high threshold for bizarre and avantgarde, but I'm afraid this goes beyond that. Adam's look and style are still in there, though if he were to take it to the Lady Gaga level, then I would depart from his camp as well. This worries me about his coming album, though I'm pretty sure he knows that what everyone loves first of all is his voice. Adam has always liked getting decked out in one character or another, and I really don't see how having a theatrical quality that he uses in the rock world is any different than what others have done. Certainly Freddie had a penchant for it. Apparently you think Adam is just playing at rock star, but so many people are doing that onstage as a stage personna. Once again, Freddie wasn't the same person in private. Adam will either be able to sell it, or not. I suspect he might end up more as a pop singer, as I think he does a better job with more ballad-like songs, like Aerosmith's Cryin' than with something like Steppenwolf's Born To Be Wild. Where does one cross over from rock to pop anyway? |

The album is supposed to drop on November 23. And I've seen the album cover. It looks like an ad for a bad drag show - from the picture right down to the cheesy lettering. All it needs now is the time, place, and cover charge. |
