What? No sound??? I've always hoped that the full thing existed in Queen's archives with sound. Maybe one day..... In the meantime - BIG THANKS for digging this up! |

This was originally filmed in 8mm silent. So no, there is no sound If you realy can not live without the sound, try to sync the studio versions of Bo Rhap and CLTCL, cause that was all that was to be heard on the night. |

Well that clears that little mystery up BUT, I've watched this now and is it the same version that clips of ballet appear from on documentaries? (Shocking isn't it that I've been a collector for 20+ years and i have to ask this question!) Over to Pittrek then (or someone) to do a dub - perhaps add a little clapping where appropriate.... |

Was it really the studio versions? What was Jamie Moses doing there then? :-) |

Yes, the documentary bits come from this video. And a version synchronised with studio versions of BoRhap and CLTCL already exists, but from what I've been told it's not for trade. Hard to say if it's still valid since the video got shared here already :-) |

So, should we try to overdub the footage with the studio versions then? Or perhaps a good quality audio recording from the 1979 tour? V. |
Nareg 19.09.2009 06:01 |
plz can someone convert the link from megaupload to mediafire ? |
deleted user 19.09.2009 15:16 |
I think a studio overdub with fades would be nice. |

My thanks go to Pittrek and thanks again to gizmo today afternoon I was checking the video in most of the parts it's obvious what Freddie is singing As for syncing I tried to put the studio version of Bohemian Rhapsody well at some part it will be aligned to the video but later it will be out of sync I even tried with some 1979 live audio recording I noticed the same with the ballet Freddie's singing very slowly but in his 1979 recordings he sings it fast Dundee 1975 was ok but again Freddie's singing at the ballet is very slow So I assume that Freddie was singing live that night... Plus the video is unbelievably steady and with good close-ups it could be an audience recording since this must've taken place in some theater so the filmer was sitting... but why not it could be a Pro Shot I mean the footage comes maybe from 1 of the multiple Pro Shot Cameras that's why we see it from 1 angle. Plus why would I think it's a Pro Shot cause the person who did the documentary "The Champions 1979" would have searched something like this in the archives I don't think it's easy to find something similar through the audience... Unless it was him who did film that footage |

The guy who mixed the orchestra sound and Freddie's voice produced something strange, but very interesting. I don't know if he did it by purpose, but the two soundtracks are in different keys and produce a totally new – and strangely fascinating – atmosphere to the song. And it fits perfectly with the picture. |
tomchristie22 11.01.2012 02:36 |
Meh. It sounds interesting I suppose, though it wouldn't have hurt to just alter the pitch of the ballad section of the orchestra track, and it would've sounded less jarringly out of tune that way... |
