The guys in the band always said that they would chop and change the songs in their sets, just to keep themselves interested.Remember they had been playing those songs for the best part of ten years live onstage.Or more.
When you are playing in a band, you tend to get bored with the same set all the time.So you drop certain songs to bring in new songs etc.
Interesting how Queen managed to always play Now I'm Here from early 70's to '86. That's the only song that remained on the setlist the whole time, pretty much.

I think between the start of the Winter 74 tour and Knebworth in 86, there was only one gig where it wasn't played (Live Aid, which doesn't really count!). There are a number of songs which debuted after Now I'm Here which also didn't miss a single gig in the rest of Queen's tours (Bo Rhap, TYMD, WWRY/WATC, LOML(from 79), Crazy, etc). This would make Now I'm Here the most played song by the original line-up.
I wonder what happens to the stats when you take into consideration solo tours and the Q+PR tours? I reckon Brian must have played TYMD more often as Q+PR than the number of gigs that Now I'm Here was played at before TYMD was introduced to the set in 76, which leads me to suspect that TYMD is now the most played Queen track. I wouldn't be surprised to see Bo Rhap now in second place for Queen, or WWRY for BHM when you include his solo gigs.
