i dont know if it is my pc or not,but the queenonline website has not been updated for ages.prize in december.now into feb.and more annoying.wheres the album club tshirt..whats happened.....tour done, album done,(maybe band done as well).and still no tshirt.
ehehehe .. not, it's not only your computer .... it's a real shame. But, hey, could we expect anything better from QPL? as they say during a tennis game: NO !!!
I raised a query about The Album Club and I recieved a response from Brian himself at the end of last year, I hope he does not mind me positng this, you will note that he has raised this thorny issue with Jim Beach, yet there appears to have been no action at all-

Dear Brian,
I hope you are enjoying a well deserved rest after the Tour. I was lucky enough to see you at two shows in Liverpool and Manchester and found both experiences truly uplifting. For two and half hours at each show, I was able to immerse myself in my passion of over thirty years, that being Queen....... Brian, thank you so much for being there for us after all this time.
This now brings me to my point....... is the Album Club an ongoing venture, or is it now over?... the reason I ask, is because there appears to be very little input into the Club in recent weeks, and dare I say, few months. The Club lists ‘Album Tracks Live Downloads’, yet there is no link to any of the Live Downloads. ‘Videos’, there are just four brief videos. ‘Images’, there are some Promo Shots and a few images from the Ukraine. ‘Sleeve Notes’, some very interesting comments, but in the same section it advises ‘Club T-shirt’ as ‘Coming Soon’..... will the T-Shirt ever see the light of day?
Keep Rocking!
Andy Wood.
Brian's reply:
Hi Andy
I am confused - are you the legendary Andy Wood of Rise of the Robots fame ?
I don't have this in my address book as an E-mail address for you ... but if so ... I hope you are keeping well !!!
and if not ... well, I still hope you are keeping well !
I've sent an enquiry about the album club to Jim.
I agree it's a bit of a non-event ... it's very much NOT my area ... I've found it embarrassing for a while now !
I am seriously beginning to question just how much involvement Brian actually has in Queen beyond being a member (of course), in terms of power over promotional tools and all that jazz.
That said, ARE you the legendary Andy Woods he mentions? :-P
(Sorry, couldn't be helped! But am curious in a nosy way thanks to Brian :-P )
choose 15 tracks if you joined the album club before September 15th and 3 tracks if you joined the album club after Sept 15th. When you check out with your registered email address and password (album club email address/password) the chosen tracks should be free for download. If they are not free cancel the procedure and complain to the digital store customer support, they must fix it for you.
This procedure was explained by the site admin on the forum but many people apparently did not see this and then it did not work for many album club members. In the mean time Digital Store has fixed most of the customer complaints.
Queenonline is run by a promotion company called outsideline, they also run the official WWRY site and 46664 site. QOL is a promotion and marketing tool, not a fan site in the first place. I do not think that Brian has much to do with the running of the website, they hired outsideline to take care of that. He must be aware, of course, that mistakes made by QOL and Digital Store hurt the reputation of the band.
I am sure that Brian is fully aware of the poor content of QOL and I am certain that is why, with the help of Jen, he has his own website, where he can use his Soapbox to voice his feelings, promote We Will Rock You, promot the last Tour, etc...... one thing I don't recall Brian promoting at all, was the recent Singles Collection, maybe, just maybe, he is not happy with it!...... despite having an extensive and valuable collection, I still refuse to fork out £40 for this Box!
Oh, and yes, I am a Legend......... but only in my own mind![/img]

Yeah, the website is pretty much his almost only independent property web-wise, run with the aide of Jen like you mentioned (even though they advertise it on recent Queen products)
I don't think he ever promoted it, but he did express interest in a 7" vinyl variant as well in regards to a piece of fanmail on the Letters section some time ago.
