Hello Queen Zoners, I have been watching the new tour on You Tube, and at various points in different songs, he does not sing (one vision being one), he does not seem to have much energy on the stage, what's wrong with him? As we all seen at the Mandela concert he cocked up One vision, and got the words wrong for the show must go on, I don't mind him singing with Queen, but why can't he get the words right? Well what do you think? (All rants welcome including anti PR people!!) |

Paul Rodgers is considered by many as one of the greatest rock n roll singers ever. What amazes me is that he delivers power, precision and range in his late fifities. He is a fantastic singer that will certainly learn all the words. |

Paul is a singer not a showman. His voice his fine, but he doesnt float my boat . I think there's no excuse for forgetting the words though, especially as alot of the tracks played were the same as the 2005 tour. If he's got alzeimers,he should bow out gracefully. |

"If he's got alzeimers,he should bow out gracefully." - What?? Nicely said. Not |
FatBumGirl 22.09.2008 06:42 |
....maybe, but fair. He's making alot of money from the Queen brand name, he has to live up to it.Nothing against him as a person, he seems a lovely guy, but he needs to put in more to his craft. |

david (galashiels) 22.09.2008 15:10 |

masterstroke_84 22.09.2008 15:20 |
They aren't like us that we know every word and every "yeah", "Uh", "mmmm" or "c'mon" in every record... is obvius that they need to learn the lyrics again, and even read it... an its fine. Hoy many times do you think that Roger has listened to I was born?... me?... 5.000 times... but him? P. |

ah... and about this topic: Paul is a great singer... and the cosmos rocks is a great proof. He can sing ballads, blues, rock, hard rock, rock n roll... even there is a few falsettos and very high notes out there in some songs... Simply amazing. |

Why don't people get off Paul's case, he's a rock legend in his own right. Freddie fucked up lyrics too check out It's a hard life on Rock In Rio and he wrote the damn thing! |
marcenciels 22.09.2008 20:26 |
pro or not... everybody goes lyric blank...even Freddie did, as some, like me, have taken notice. that is why it is called LIVE !...CAUGHT IN THE ACT !!!...there is no take 2-3-4-5-6-7-... all singers go every now and then: OOPS ?!?...i fucked up ! i did blank...euh ??? too many times to say...héhéhé... this debate is just small piggy poop. |

It was Freddie that mucked up in the Live Aid gig on Hammer To Fall. Like he said "If you're gonna fuck it up,you might as well do it in front of millions" |

Bo Rhap wrote: Like he said "If you're gonna fuck it up,you might as well do it in front of millions"Bob Geldof said that on Live Aid before Do They Know it's Christmas. I think it was: "If you're going to cock it up, you might as well do it with 2 billion people watching", or something like that. |
emrabt 23.09.2008 11:14 |
Where was it when Freddie said something like: "I forgot the words but I don't care, I just made them up" after he completely goes blank singing a medley and makes the words up. |

(All rants welcome including anti PR people!!)I've been to the concert and I also confirm that Paul didn't display much energy and didn't seem to be very enthusiastic on stage. Yes, he forgot the words once or twice and confused the lines. But the last two things didn't matter that much. However, I would have liked him to be more rocking... |
April 24.09.2008 15:08 |
When John Lennon forgot the lines he just made up some others and he didn't mind it. That was what Paul McCartney noticed when he first met John. Paul was impressed: How skilfully he is throwing in new words, he thought. |

I think he struggles with lyrics because it's not very often in the history of rock tours for an accomplished veteran with a comfortable job position to be touring a headliner 2+ hour setlist with 70% approximately matching the amount of music he never created, recorded or covered before until recently. He ususally botches lyrics of queen add-ons a couple of times and then he's golden. I also cut him slack that he needs so little cut in that he's an a list legend agreeing to a project he is a minority in that features up front another band he wasn't a part of. He needs no project like this to further his career and does it out of genuine friendship and professional interest in working with Brian and Roger. They could have gotten a million people to replace Freddie, but only a small handful as prominent in reputation as Rodgers, and none as good that I heard about. Bayond all of that I see his musical contributions as the weaker of the 3 as I would have bet large sums of money on before knowing who the singer was, but it's not bad and it does blend in some odd way with Queen in making a shiny new product. George Michael at his most humbly left to their whims and disposal witn no ego or desire to do something beyond mimic-acting-singing as a Freddie off-the-bench would have been nostalgic, but this takes most of the nostalgia while twisting a new flavor that I will never stop thanking the gods/fate/Rodgers for bringing to reality. |
