So you share MP3 when we all share something of perfect quality here ? Hope you're not serious ! That the sort of things that makes me a little angry. I think you should delete this message, and try and make this "best of" yourself. When I see that, I wonder why we are uploading all that stuff for some days... Should we stop ? Thanks for your intention to share, but I think it was not the best way to do that... Regards, Olivier, France. |

If you don't like it ... then don't download it! I am happy if I get something that I did not have - no matter if MP3 or not. If you have it all in FLAC then put it in here ... instead of complaining! Seems that you are the best example of the spirit in queenzone ... |

Seems that you are the best example of the spirit in queenzone ...If you follow the activity on Queenzone, the great majority of these shows are (were) being uploaded. Plus, the spirit on Queenzone now became more oriented towards quality, respect towards the tapers and sharers. So, I don't think I got it wrong. I would have hoped that you had not put this here, and downloaded it directly from the other website where you found it. Once again, this is not your intention to share that annoys me. It's the bad quality offered here when everybody (Maruga, Pittrek, Dobo, Ginger, Daffy and so on) tries to offer quality and spend time and efforts to do so. You don't seem to realize that in a certain way, you just ruined everything. I don't know you and don't want to behave badly towards you. I'm angry but still polite. I would probably not be the only one to react, and can't guarantee that other people's reaction will be that polite. Please, once again, delete that. Regards, Olivier, France. |

I would be the one to blame for this been released in the 1st place, I released this as a test for a project I am working on at the moment to see if there was enough demand for it and there was so I will be releasing a FLAC version or at least something similar to this as soon as I have one more track in FLAC format!!!! |
Queenrockyou 07.05.2008 07:53 |
OK Dobo, hope you could complete your project soon and upgrade your version ! Good idea ! Regards, Olivier, France. |

Hi dear Joe, I don't think he deserves that much attention. Dobo or someone will probably have this compilation uploaded somewhere, or a bootleg company will find the idea interesting, or something, and we won't even have to worry about that. I was upset by his attitude, but I feel relieved that the Queenzoners interested in quality will benefit from that compilation in lossless format sometime soon. Let's forget about it. I prefer that attitude than stopping sharing all this stuff. I hope all the other tapers and collectors who want to participate here won't regard this as a real problem. This will be solved quite early I'm sure. Anyway, how are going ? Enjoying sun too ? Wonderful weather here... Who said Northern France was a rainy country ? ;o) Regards, Olivier, France. |

Well once I get the track Sunshine of Your Love from the Newcastle gig in FLAC i can finish and upload the final FLAC Version of this release, as I said this mp3 version was only meant as a test for the final release to see if there was interest |

thank you for uploading this stuff... wanted to compile those songs myself for a long time... btw. "Rock'n'roll fantasy" is missing... :-( ...and what about 'i want it all' by brian and 'hammer to fall' by brian and roger ? worth mentioning, i think... anyway... nice compilation for those who don't follow the q+pr hype and are interested in 'odd' songs. |

^^^^ sorry, i dont have 'sunshine...' in flac... (and personally i dont need those tracks because i have most of them in mp3...it's enough for me...) but if you'd provide the slash guest appearance in listenable quality, you're welcome. the mp3-source shared here the other day was that much overdriven you couldn't enjoy listening... i think also the queen+wwry-cast cologne would be welcome here (as there are different sources)... thank you anyway... p.s. 'fire and water' is also missing in the compilation... p.p.s: and yes... i know the existence of the request forum; but this is only critics :-D |

Well, I found it and passed it on to the people here. Some are happy - some are not. Who cares?! I wonder how people can be so strange in here. Complaining about what they get for free. Not everyone is a FLAC freak!! I'd like to decide myself what I want - and what not. So f*** off and don't decide for me, nor for all the other people in this place, ok?! And you seem to forget that this might be a first listen for some people, they can search for better quality then or just simply stay with the MP3 version. Easy!! Well, some people just seem to be better than others, they can't live with the thought that we all are free to chose for ourselves! |
Queenrockyou 07.05.2008 17:52 |
Please calm down now, I did. The problem I think is that the tapers and sharers don't really like seeing their recordings spreading in a lossy form, when they put all their efforts to share their own recordings in a lossless format. Just because of that attitude, some are refusing to share their recordings. They are being called names because they are somehow considered as hoarders. And of course the lossy format is rapidly destroying the quality of the music contained in the files. I myself didn't knew a word about Flac some months ago, and seeing how people could preserve the quality of the music, and respect the traders, artists and the people they were offering their recordings. That's my point of view, you got yours. Once again, it has already been said that the best attitude would be to offer only Flac, and people could very easily convert it to mp3 themselves if they want to. Also, please note I launched this idea because people offered links to shows in mp3 format, whereas great quality Flac files circulated ,we had the proof these last days on Queenzone. I must admit this compilation is a great idea, and deserves a good listening, it is part of QPR's work, whether we like it or not. Now, the problem is solved, so if you don't want to cancel your offer of offering mp3's, then let it go. I decided it won't change my point of view about sharing and so on, and it probably won't be a problem anymore when someone will upload this compilation in Flac (better quality). So, that's it. I won't launch a MP3/Flac battle, I don't like battles, and I don't want people to get annoyed by that, it is not the goal of that. For me, the incident stops there. Whether you will one day test and appreciate Flac files is not to be discussed here. I have nothing against you personnally. For people enjoying quality far better, enjoy the shows anyway, more uploads in progress. Regards, Olivier, France. |

Not everyone is a FLAC freak!!People have gone through great effort to go to the shows and risk their own safety to make recordings available for people like you to point/click/download. Converting their recordings to mp3 is the ultimate sign of disrespect to the tapers. If it weren't for them, the recordings wouldn't be available at all. The overwhelming majority of tapers wish that their recordings maintain their original quality. If we don't respect their wishes, they will simply stop sharing their recordings. So whose wishes are more important - yours or theirs? Never mind the fact that songs from the hi-def Worcester 06 DVD are now in mp3 format... good on that taper for not sharing the whole thing. |

max_fast wrote: I found it in internet and passed it on to you all without editing or changing something!! So what? You complain that I share what I find??Yep, that was a great idea sharing what you found. Maybe asking before sharing to see what people thought about this idea would have been better, just to see if a better quality version existed, and if sharing this was not destroying someone else's job. Once again, your will to share is very appreciated, that's not the problem I found here. max_fast wrote: If you care about the wishes of different people, then care about the artists. They do NOT allow bootlegs in most cases. What a stupid discussion this is!!Well, in fact, if I'm right, the band fully allows us to share bootlegs here, the only condition is that we don't share official release. So I don't think we don't care about the artists sharing here, but we are full of respect towards them. Well, I do. I'm sure you do too when you share something too. There are many other websites on the web offering Queen live stuff without the clearance of the band, and most are not caring about quality. They don't respect the band, showing off theit work in an altered way. max_fast wrote: A lot of people don't have unlimited downloading possibility from internet, they are happy when the files are not so big.Yes, that's a problem, not everybody benefits from a high internet connection. I don't have the fastest one, and I would love to have something faster. It would make the downloads easier. But technology progresses everyday, let's hope the developments will be fast. They are fast in a lot of countries, as they are essential for the development of the economy. max_fast wrote: Some others just want to hear those songs and are happy with the way they are!! Can't you imagine that??? And you can anyway chose how you want to do it. So just stop complaining about something that is not relevant to everyone. People are different! The problem is we won't share here something in Flac AND mp3, there won't be two different forums. As we have to please everyone, die-hard live shows collectors or people passing by here, I think we have to find a compromise. As we can very easily convert a Flac to Mp3, and as we can't do the other way, from Mp3 to Flac, then I (me, personnally, not everyone) think the best way is to share the quality, and let everyone alter the quality if it is their wish. If they try and trade the files, only the Flac files should be traded (and not mp3 converted again to Flac, quality is lost forever when converted to mp3). We can make a Ford out of a Rolls Royce, but you can try how many times you want, a Ford will never be a Rolls Royce. That's not my way of thinking, it's a fact this time. So, if such an attitude has these effects : - preventing people to share their recordings - annoying the collectors, die-hard or not and make them go out of Queenzone (they are an important sub-community here) - destroying the quality Then I think it would be better to spend two, three or ten more minutes to download the songs, and the community could continue to benefit from quality. To be honest, there are softwares like Free Download Manager for example who are very helpful, plus, to be frank, there usually aren't so many shows shared here each day, one or two maybe usually, except these last days maybe. Once again, that's MY own point of view, shared or not by others. We clearly understood you had yours and made a point at not cancelling your share and attitude. That's fine, be it. I respect you as you are a Queenzoner and use this community, just as I do. I will not say you are stupid or an asshole or anything like that. I just tried and understood your point of view, and tried to explain mine. If you think I am the asshole of Queenzone then let's think ab |

The Real Wizard 08.05.2008 11:06 |
max_fast wrote: If you care about the wishes of different people, then care about the artists. They do NOT allow bootlegs in most cases.First, these are not bootlegs. Recordings are only bootlegs when they're sold by bootleg companies. These are simply recordings that were made unofficially. It's important to make this distinction before even entering a discussion on the subject. Many artists have an issue with unofficial recordings because it is their intellectual property, an argument which I personally don't buy, because as long as you play live, at least one audience WILL hear it. It's therefore no different if further people get to hear it in another format. Playing a concert to 5000 people with a further 2000 hearing the recording on The Traders' Den and YouTube is no different from playing a concert to 7000 people. If you as an artist don't want people hearing your music, then don't perform. You should be proud of your music, and humbled that some of your fans enjoy your concerts enough to want to share them with others, potentially bringing you new fans. Most artists had an issue with unofficial recordings in the past because they were losing money to bootleggers. But nowadays with high speed internet, 99% of the sharing and trading is done for free by their fans who already own all the albums and DVDs. Most artists recognize this, and many have reacted with selling soundboard recordings of every show (The Who, Pearl Jam, etc). They make the money, and their fans get the best quality. Win/win. File sharing isn't going to go away, so why not optimize the quality the recordings are shared in? Most people have high speed internet, so why should the quality suffer to accomodate a few? A person with a Beetle isn't entitled to a Rolls Royce just because they want one. People are different! No kidding. People here are very different. It's the only trading community where people flog out to criticize those who are trying boost the quality for everyone. How come there aren't any Genesis and Floyd collectors who whine for lower file sizes? They would be ousted immediately from those communities in the interest of the overwhelming majority. And at genesis-movement and yeeshkul, new tapes of these bands keep coming out monthly, but only one new Queen tape comes out each year or so. Coincidence? TT wrote: Oliver, no offence but you are a snob.Name-call all you want, argue all you want, and complain all you want. The best recordings won't be available until the policies change here. The people with the tapes get to call the shots. If you don't adhere to their requests, then many recordings don't get shared, plain and simple. Recordings are being hoarded for various reasons, but quality is one of them. If you want worse quality, there's YouTube. I hardly think the worst thing a community can do is stop the circulation of worse-sounding versions of recordings in order to accumulate more. Just don't shoot the messenger. I certainly didn't come up with this idea. But feel free to attack me, since you guys are clearly chief experts on music trading and have gone through the trouble to accumulate new recordings on your own. |
