Hello People,
Is there a chance Brian and Roger would use old unreleased songs by Queen to put on their new album? So....replace the vocals from Freddie by Paul?
I thought of this because Brian stated there will be a song on the new Cosmos-album which could be aswell on the SHA album.
No, for the love of God, no. It's already been announced that the cover song that was going to be put on the new album has been removed, and I sincerely doubt that you're going to see the band dig back into the archives for a song that wasn't good enough thirty years ago--why would it suddenly be good enough now?
*Note: I'm not saying that all unreleased songs were "not good enough." Some of them are, in fact, quite good, but for whatever reason, the band didn't think so.
Paul Rodgers would have to sing the songs in different keys for a start as he is not well blessed in the vocal stakes like Freddie and they probably would never sound as intended or have the best quality. You can't beat the Freddie magic.
It is possible though Jagger and Jackson finished the State of Shock track Jackson started with Freddie. Unfortunately/or fortunately depending on your personal tastes Freddie was too busy with Queen Commitments and didn't complete this track, but even on the demo track with Freddie's vocals, the track is so much better than Jackson/Jagger's version.
Another point I think Roger, Brian and John would be sensitive about an outsider touching Freddie's work with the rest of the band, but I maybe wrong it wouldn't be the first or won't be the last time.
