Well, some people aren't able to tell who composed 'Innuendo' or 'Was It All Worth It' so there you go. |

Didn't they record that song inside Freddie's car - you know - to get that bouncing off the windshield sound? |

Note for note, one of Freddie's best vocal performances. |

Brian wrote it, and Freddie sang it. Remember that Brian was very sick during this period of Queen's early days. |

Its funny you should mention Brians illness. Didnt he have to take time away from the band while they were making Sheer Heart Attack as he had an ulcer? I always thought he wrote this song for the band during that time? |

Ok, so I forget the disease/virus, but he caught something more serious than getting an ulcer if I remeber correctly! I say that as though I was there - I was still but a twinkle in my dad's eye at the time, but you know what I mean. |

There's no one Queen's song called dear friends, maybe you are refering to a song sang by John in his international 1983 world tour. He sang this song in Urk. |

That was always a character performed by Anita Dobson. Thea-tah! And the vocals? Surprisingly, that was always the golden throat of John Deacon. Who knew? |

Right I could be subconciously making this up, but didn't he get gangrene from a dodgy needle when getting injections before going to Australia, and almost lost his arm? Then I think hepatitis set in, and then another illness but I can't recall. Either way during the Sheer Heart Attack recordings he had problems. But apparently in hospital he came up with the Prophet's Song, so it wasn't the worst thing in the world! |

It was hepatitis, remember the band toured the USA with Mott the Hoople earlier that year, Sex, Drugs & Rock 'n' Roll and STDs. I remember reading somewhere that Brian was in danger of loosing his arm because of this illness. Oh yeah, It's Freddie on vocals. I can't believe that you had to ask! |
danwhite89 17.04.2008 06:40 |
I know, but when I first heard it I thought it was Brian singing what is by all accounts a song I'm not a fan of. It was in a depressed tone and in that way, Freddie was able to sound a bit like Brian. My mistake though! |
