I ask, why? I know it will help 46664 but its not going to help Q+PR. I know us fans woould buy it for the b sides, but in tradition the B side isnt meant to be as good as the A side and many people's view is that SINT is a nice song and was nice as a freebie but want to expect more from the album/ real single. This seems a bad move. People that arent mega die hard queen fans wont but this if its free to download. Hard one. What do you guys think? |

Maybe we can make a petition to delete the phaser effects before the CD release ? |
Pim Derks 06.12.2007 09:12 |
If they include The Call, Invincible Hope and the original 2003 studio version of Say It's Not True as b-sides - that would be great to have as a real CD. I really hope they won't include those tracks on the QPR album.... But I guess we'll get Say It's Not True + a live track from Return of the Champions or something :W |

They were intended to be on the 46664 project in the first place, so i don´t understand why they have choosed to release the 3 CD set of the Mandela concert instead of the studio tracks. To me that was a bad decision, and sell numbers have proved that, but lets wait and see. Take care |

Great, just what I needed was a physical release of a track I don't want to hear. And most probably it will be coupled with three different live versions of WWRY. :P The only good thing about the physical release is that it really forces the apologists to have a look at what's happened to the band. So far it's been easy to dismiss the existing artwork of the song (with the band titled simply as Queen) and press releases as nothing more than mistakes made by the press, but the physical release will settle that once and for all. It will also tell exactly how much interest there is for the "new" song in the outside world, when so far the response has been limited to what the few thousand people online think about it. It's not going to be pretty. :/ |

As far as I know the 2003 studio version of Say It's Not True hasn't leaked. I'm sure it exists though, as studio versions of all the other new tracks performed at 46664 in 2003 were recorded in the studio. |

Brian May announces Charity single to be released on assumably CD format As we know, Say its not true was released last week as a free download from Queenonline.com Brian has now announced the single to be relased in physical form. I have started a discussion off in serious discussion. link The best new melodic rock band on the planet - The next Queen!!! Submitted by: olly1988Shameless! |

The Fairy King, re: >>Shameless! I don't see how. It was originally released in order to highlight the AIDS cause but they clearly think it's generated enough interest to be able to release it therough EMI / Parlophone officially and, thus, generate money for either MPT or any other AIDS charity they choose. There have also been numerous complaints about the "quality" of the download, so we will now be able to *PROPERLY* assess the quality of the music and the individual performances. Let's hope that the official version isn't as bad as the download. |
Adam Baboolal 06.12.2007 12:13 |
I hope they remix it cause maybe it's just me, but the volume of things really hurt my ears and I had to turn it down. I don't do that with other music! And yeah, general feeling that the phaser on the voices was just too much - even to the point that some thought it was a vocal tuning effect! Oh dear... Anyway, I welcome the release because it'll be nice to get a high quality version on cd with some other sprinklings of tracks. Adam. |

I feel they are really doing the wrong thing here. They will find it very hard to come back with something if this goes flat on its arse which it probably will. Was a nice taster of things to come, not THE thing to come. |

Tero wrote: What it is going to be is a missed opportunity. The first single of the band, which sets the expectations for what the band is going to be like. Sure, there may be some underlying motive to test the waters, but it's primarily to promote their association with Nelson Mandela and 46664. As Mr Faron Hyte has said, if all proceeds go to the 46664 campaign or to the MPT, then this is the right thing. I'm almost certain there will be a proper QPR single when the album is ready but, as Brian and Roger have said several times (yet most have missed), the album isn't ready yet, so 'Say It's Not True' isn't being used as a taster for the new album. It's beyond me why people don't understand that... I like Pim's idea, to release a maxi-single or whatever they call it, with all the songs recorded for 46664 back in March 2003. Someone should mention that to Brian... |

I understand where your coming from but in an ideal situation I would have waited to release a proper single and brought something rock and in your face out with a Queen video. The download was a great idea but this is what I find a bit daft. |

The download was a great idea but this is what I find a bit daft.I like that idea too, but only when QPR are ready to release their album will that make any sense. Seeing that this is all for charity, I find that the video is perfect for the occasion, and the idea of releasing Say It's Not True as a physical product to raise money and awareness for charity is an even better idea. |

Not watching a video which even though fits the 46664 theme wont get any airplay.I don't think you understand the difference between the "comeback" of QPR and doing something for charity. Allow me to assist you. Remove from your mind any thought that this release has anything to do with a "comeback". Because it doesn't. The focus isn't on QPR. This isn't a release or a video to say to the world, "Hey, we're QPR, and we're ready to release our new album, and this single and video is a taster for what's to come! ARE YOU READY TO ROCK?!?" Is that thought out of your mind? Okay, good. Now, here's what you should replace that thought ("What thought?" I hear you ask. Good.) with: 'Say It's Not True' has been released, and will potentially be released as a physical product, FOR CHARITY. IT'S ALL FOR NELSON MANDELA AND HIS CAMPAIGN. THE VIDEO THAT HAS BEEN PRODUCED HAS BEEN FOR CHARITY, AND WAS CREATED BY A DIRECTOR COMMISSIONED SPECIALLY FOR WORLD AIDS DAY. So, to sum up: 'Say It's Not True' single and video to announce the return of QPR? NO!!! 'Say It's Not True' single and video to raise awareness for 46664 and AIDS? YES!!! I don't know how much more clear this can be said. |

Unfortunatelly I predict sth from RETURN OF THE CHAMPIONS...eil.com is listing it as having only the audio track and a CD-ROM track (I assume of the video), and nothing else. So if that's accurate, its just the song and nothing but. I'd also like to remark on the amazing clarity of thought displayed by Mr. Burnham. This single is about the charity and the disease first, and any good publicity that comes out of it second. It most certainly is not a "comeback" release, and considering that the band just completed a world tour a year ago, I'm not sure what they have to "come back" from. The tour was the "comeback" - from 20 years of not touring amd 15 years of "maybe we're a band, maybe we're not". The album and subsequent tour-to-come are the delivering-you-the-goods-that-we-warmed-you-up-for-by-going-on-tour-last-year-and-the-year-before. "Comebacks" are for people and bands that had spectacular failures or horrible disasters that require they lay low for x number of years before re-emerging from the failure/disaster. The QPR album is a continuation of the successful collaboration that the tour represented; I don't consider it a "comeback" in the traditional showbiz sense, anymore than the next Spielberg movie is a "comeback", since he hasn't really gone anywhere - he's just continuing to do what he does. QPR haven't really gone anywhere either. |

(There are a few thousand fans who would be happy to buy the harmonic farting of Brian & Rog, just as long as it came out under the Queen name).
