They won't because they didn't sell good. They should have, but they didn't. |
Leaky Luke 06.10.2007 13:56 |
Bad promoting I'd say. If the band was promoted better they would become bigger.. |

I'll agree but I think that if they ReEdit the 3 album separate with bonus track and selling through the queen portal to worldwide(for example)... I'm sure that they have a relative decent number of buyers... It's not value ReEdit for one country but if ReEdit for all the worldwide they must sell good (I believe) |

could have been an awesome gritty band with better promo |

Albums were released on different labels -> too much "paper work" must be done, but in the end who the fuck will buy "Shove It" with bonus tracks even in our days? |

no record company is going to waste time re-pressing cds that didn't sell well first time round. |

But I don't think that "Fun In The Space" and "Strange Frontier" having sell good anytime And they're still in catalog !! |

Fun In Space got to #18 in the UK and Strange Frontier wasn't a flop. All to blame on poor marketing though... |

Because (May & Taylor)+Paul Rodgers or any superknown concert Rerererereedit with digital surround, dts, 5.1, blah! it´s more profitable than a few fans like us. The cross sound great!!! much better than Strange Frontier or Electric Fire but Queen Productions never think on the fans. |

The Cross failed when Parlophone discovered that Freddie was on his way out. The pressure was on for the band to then complete the "Innuendo" album and promote that fully. Because of this, any backing for The Cross was removed (remember they had a HUGE following in continental Europe, particularly in Germany) as it was felt that, should Roger become *too successful* with his secondary project, his on-going attention would be taken away from Queen. Parlophone were also scared of the fact that the members of Queen might decide (however remote it seems, it was certainly a possibility) to dissolve the band in advance of Freddie dieing so that there was absolutely no pressure on Freddie to feel that he had to go on recording. Seeing that and wanting to protect their investment, Parlophone saw it apropriate to leave Roger will few options OTHER THAN Queen as a working band. Sadly, a great band never really got the chance to be anything more than they were. Blue Rock is simply the best solo album from any of the members of Queen from the quality of the writing to the production and overall sound. It's so sad that the powers that be were so short-sighted as this band could have been really good. |

Mad Bad and Blue Rock are really lot of better album than Electric Fire..... Electric Fire suck....is the worse album |
Benn 09.10.2007 12:08 |
Electric Fire's a great album, but totally incomperable to anything that The Cross did - it's like comparing a Porsche to a Skoda....... |

Serry in my personal opinion...Shove It is better than Electric Fire.....just with heaven for everyone (roger or fred version) is enough to confirmate this. Other thing is that Shove it become after Strange Frontier and the first it´s better like an album pop (see like a taylor album....both have all the songs written by Rog...except the covers). Electric Fire become after Happiness.....this make for me to Electric Fire the very worst Taylor work. I repeat it´s my personal opinion..... |

Electric Fire become after Happiness.....this make for me to Electric Fire the very worst Taylor work.I see your point and respect your opinion, but in my opinion we can't judge about the albums only by the good tracks from them. QII doesn't contain any big hit (SSOR is not something that we can call as the most famous and greatest Queen track) - it's good as an album, not as compilation of good songs. Same about EF - it's more album, than Shove It is which is more Roger' solo album, than the Cross' one by the way (just my opinion too). Happiness is better than everything was done by Rog in solo work, I agree here, but Shove It with all those pop-synth fillers... Less songs Roger wrote for a Cross album - better an album was (he wrote only 2 songs for Blue Rock). |

Huge by way of the fact that they were continually promoted there and the albums & singles sold consistently. Certainly not huge in the truest sense... |

What have Parlophone got to do with it, weren't The Cross originally signed to Virgin? I like Electric Fire much better than Shove Personally, but the two "proper" Cross albums are the best Queen solo projects ever. |

The Cross weren´t HUGE in Germany, but I guess there was a solid fan base. The "Mad Bad and Dangerous" album reached number 47 in the German longplay charts; a quite good result for an "unknown" newcomer band. I remember the album received good critics in German music magazines, because it was straight and uncomplicated rock. I heard "Power To Love" a few times on radio that time. But "Blue Rock" failed totally, because it is totally overproduced and not in the same "dry" style like "Mad, Bad..."! There was some promo, more than other bands got! I remember whole-sided ads in music magazines and also a live TV appearence at Berlin Funkausstellung with "New Dark Ages". I think the main problem were the three albums in three different styles in four years. Especially in Germany people are very loyal to their favourite musicians, but they don´t like big changes! I´m begging for a "Best Of The Cross" or reissues with bonus-tracks, too, but I guess that will not happen. Easiest way would be a Queenonline only CD relase. They could produce a few thousands of the discs; a stock of this small number would not touch too much the plenty of millions they earned from us...... In fact of the boring live disc releases over the last years and the unreleased things the fans REALLY want I´m feeling constantly ass-kicked by my favourite band since many years |
