Yes, this belongs in the Personal section. NOT the "Queen - General Discussion" forum. What it says on the tin... Now, there's some good stuff in there, but there's also a fair amount of bad. The singer mostly. But overall, it sounds like a cheap demo. Needs help. I'd totally change the piano/string patch to separate pieces. Build a proper strings part on its own. I'd also change the key or at least have your singer move higher up at certain points in the song. It needs that variation to make it better. I might also change some of the guitar arrangements. But hey, it just needs more work. Believe it or not, I think it could be a great tune. Dum dum DUMMM! Adam. |
willem-jan 8923 07.09.2007 07:39 |
Well, since Treasure Moment is the only band on this planet that comes close to the quality of Queen in terms of song-writing skills as well as musicianship, I think this is indeed the right place to post this topic. Although, the serious discussion would be a candidate as well. |

With all honesty, which is what I trust you desire, I was literally bored within the first 20 seconds of the song. When Johan, your vocalist, came in I was like "alright, let's see what this chap has got to offer," however I was bored once more. Your music all sounds the same to me, the same textures over and over again. Don't get me wrong, you guys are searching for emotional music, well you've got that going for you. Otherwise you've got some work ahead of you. You need to build yourselves up to more creative composers and come up with some new ideas that will keep the listener attracted to your music. |

How can you say that AND state you think it could be a great tune? That's like saying minutes of triplets going "C-D-Eb Eb-D-C" resemble "Oh When The Saints" (note that the latter uses a MAJOR third and not a minor on the opening section). |

This is just a demo , which means that its not recorded proffesionally. The vocals are not done , mixed properly either thats why its sounds kinda of bad. That goes for all of our songs , so offcourse they will sound alot better when we go after a record deal. |

Honest assessment: It bored me. I'm sorry, but the only band you "crush" talent-wise is those four guys who were trying to sing "Gangsta's Paradise" on karaoke night a few days back. Whoever said take some lessons and hire a songwriter is, unfortunately, correct. There's nothing here that distinguishes you from the crop of other subpar acts out there today (whatever happened to good music?). |

if i post my demos, and someone says i suck, i would want to know why. if someone says im good, again, i would want to know why. these are opinions that help build and improve a generic sound. but if somone says i suck, tells me why, and i dont like it, i wont be arrogant about it. maybe defensive if theres some uncalled-for put-downs, but i do not say that everyone else is shit compared to me, because i would refuse to believe that someone could POSSIBLY think negativly. i guess im saying yet again, that you should not bother posting your songs, if youre expecting everyone to drop to their knees and adore you, and ask for 'opinions'. escpecially if youre delusional enough to believe youll get a record deal, after majority of the people here have told you their honest opinion. they have told you what to do to improve, and the least you can do is take it or leave it. well i know its been said, but personal forum would be appropriate for this. that is where i will be posting mine in the near future (im having someone helop me fix little things and im redoing a few others). meanwhile.... Lighten up and take the serious critism and opinions with open minds and ears, because PEOPLE are the ones who will be buying or not buying your product, correct?Leaky Luke wrote:no not europe, their old albums are great.
