do you think on the back of the success of the last tour the lads will be playing bigger venues? eg.wembley stadium.do you think they could still fill venues of this size?personally i prefer more intimate venues i was at brixton and the point in dublin and both were sheer class, some newer bands shoulg go and see how it should be done |
Penetration_Guru 26.07.2007 15:19 |
I think there are venues with capacities in between Brixton & Wembley Stadium.... |
lotto 26.07.2007 15:24 |
i know but in your opinion would they fill wembley? |
Micrówave 26.07.2007 16:18 |
Wow, Deja Vu. It feels like I just answered this thread in another section.

lotto wrote: i know but in your opinion would they fill wembley?I don't think that should be the question. They will never play Wembley, because that will lead only to direct comparisons to the old Queen. They are a new band with new things to offer, and so I highly doubt they will do it at Wembley. |
david (galashiels) 26.07.2007 16:21 |
the question should be,will the tour bus reach scotland this time? |
lotto 26.07.2007 17:11 |
yeah strange one that, when is last time they played scotland ? dont think they played it on magic tour, did brian play there on his tour? |

A friendly observation: Going from Scotland to England isn't too far, compared to those who traveled from Mexico and even South America to the US last year. |
lotto 26.07.2007 17:29 |
very true!but it would be handy if they played close to home;sometimes its cool to go and see a band in different country as audiences vary from country to country ,european and south american audiences seem to be much more vocal and wilder than north american audiences who can be more subdued, will probably get dogs abuse for saying that |
Major Tom 26.07.2007 19:46 |
No, sorry to say, but they would not fill the new Wembley stadium. However. 20000-30000 venues, no problem. Not in the U.K anyway. |
lotto 26.07.2007 20:13 |
we will have to wait and see ,if the new album is good then there will be a lot of excitment and maybe then they will fill stadiums, but as usual the critics will probably slate new album as they usually do with queen |

Roger's reaction when I said I came from Mexico was priceless! |

As long as they come back to Washington D.C. and play the Verizon Center all will be well....I skipped last tour and even had the ticket in my hand, but out of stubborn loyalty to Freddie I refused to go. Now I've had 2 years to ponder my decision and realize seeing half of Queen is better than never have seen them at all....RETURN OF THE CHAMPION's convinced me of this.......Peace |

Wembley, don't hold your breath. Even if the band thought they could do, I doubt that Q+PR would find a promoter willing to put them in there without multiple platinum albums. Think of it this way: it took Queen 16 years of performing as a group and 11 studio albums (ok, 12 if you count Flash) to get to Wembley. I just don't see the new Q+PR making it back to the stadium. Wembley Arena, sure, but not the stadium. I'd like to hope the band releases an album before their next tour. Judging by US attendance figures, I'd say that if they return to America, it will be for quick stops in New York, LA, and maybe another major city or two as an afterthought of their European tour. |
lotto 27.07.2007 09:26 |
why, were u.s attendances bad any footage i seen they seemed to be playing to good crowds in big arenas |
lotto 27.07.2007 09:30 |
you dont know what you have missed, i have been to see aerosmith ,george michael, kaiser chiefs in ireland since last tour and while they were all very good none came close to q+pr |
fanatic125 27.07.2007 12:30 |
You think they'll come to Philadelphia? Maybe play in the Spectrum or the Wachovia Center? |
stateside fan 27.07.2007 21:48 |
they sure will, the filled the Spectrum in 2006.Wachovia center is the bigger venue but the rent is 300% more.plus the Spectrum is much better acoustically.hope to see you there the zoners were in full force that night we took over a popular bar before and after the show. |

lotto wrote: why, were u.s attendances bad any footage i seen they seemed to be playing to good crowds in big arenasAt the Glendale, AZ, show, so few tickets sold that people who paid peanuts for nosebleed seats just to see Q+PR (like myself) ended up being handed tickets at the door for new seats. Seven rows from the stage on the lower level, no less. The top level was empty and blacked out with tarps. This, apparently, was not an uncommon occurrence on the US tour. |
lotto 28.07.2007 15:18 |
was the show still good and was it a big venue? |
fantasticcircus 28.07.2007 16:42 |
Maybe perhaps an amphitheatre tour for the southern USA |
stateside fan 29.07.2007 00:05 |
most if not all of the large markets sold out or came close.they should have thought twice about the southwest and other dumps like pittsburgh and jax.Philly, boston, detroit, chicago all did great.washington and atlanta too. |

Sir GH

ah yeah
wrote: What was his reaction!?!?He was signing someone else's tour book and I told him he was drumming great and that I came all the way from Mexico to see them. He lifted his eyebrows and opened his eyes very wide and only repeated "Mexico???!", then he wrote a couple of other autographs and he was leaving already when it was my turn! He walked like 10 feet or so and I told him "Roger, I came from Mexico to see you guys". He stopped in the act and told his bodyguard "I'll just sign this guy's..." He returned and signed wide and clear. Beautiful signature. I thanked him. I wish I could have had my picture taken with him. Actually, I took someone else's picture with Roger but not one with me :S. Still, it was a cool experience. He seemed to be in a good mood, unlike Brian, who seemed very tired but still stopped to give autographs. Nice of him. This was outside of their hotel in Prague, btw. Wiley |

I saw them on Long Island and they had blacked out the upper areas, so that show did not sell out. I was able to get good seats rather easily online. I remember being so concerned about the ticket sales I E-Mailed Brian: On 12 Dec 2005, at 02:04, Barry wrote: > Hi Jen/Brian, > > I am concerned about ticket sales here in New York, U.S. (Nassau > Coliseum in particular) I have already ordered my tickets but > just kept checking on the ticketmaster site and noticed that ticket > sales have appeared to slow down almost to a halt. Kind of you to write. I made enquiries and don't believe they have had a big push yet ... I am told 'don't worry'... Brian and Roger get updates every day and will keep an eye on it. Thanks for bringing this to attention. Jen |
