Forgive me if this topic has been posted before, but who has the Queen 'Pre Ordained' album? I believe it is a rarity. It has several songs by Smile on it. Who here has heard it, and what are your opinions on it? I'm curious to know. Thanks.
'Queen Pre Ordained' is a valuable asset to my Queen collection. The quality of the songs are poor, but if you're a collector like me that is irrelevent.
On another note, this particular CD gives a very good look at the talent that Smile contained. While Tim Staffel is hardly the Freddie Mercury we are so used to, he maintains his stature in a respectable way. Songs like 'Earth' and 'Polar Bear' are beautiful songs that I would have loved to have seen relived after the birth of Queen. You can also find one of the earliest if not the earliest version of Brian May's famous guitar solo on the track 'Blag' which is an interesting rocker song. That by itself is a good reason to seek and obtain this so called rarity.
Depending upon where your location is you can usually find this CD at Borders for a fair price.

is that like to Queen in Nuce album thinggy?
..it has smile and Larry Lurex on it?
I always loved 'Vamp'!
But I'd definitely recommend 'In Nuce' or 'Ghost Of A Smile' for the Smile/Larry Lurex-material - that heavy noise reduction on 'Pre Ordained' sucks a lot!
the quality isnt great, but there are some cool songs :)
i love earth! and the day the talkies came is pretty sweet!
april lady is amazing too!
step on me is catchy!
i love freddies version of 'going back' but i like dusty better ;-)
polar bear is a nice bassline :) it reminds me of a cloudy day in a park, i dunno why.
as i said, quality in recording? not so great, but the songs are hardly disposable. it takes some getting used to with tims voice, but if another singer were to do this, i think it would be amazing.
