This Live Earth global gig. I hope the promoters realise that the biggest majority of the audience are not interested in saving "Planet Earth". All they want to see is some good bands playing well.... and a nice day out. Cynical anyone??? Listen to your consience. |

I'm turning off all my electrical equipment to cut down carbon emissions, so I can't see this concert. Oh well. |
Treasure Moment 07.07.2007 05:25 |
Music is garbage these days, there is not a single good song to be heard |
Freya is quietly judging you. 07.07.2007 05:34 |
It'll probably be a load of shit to be fair, but I'll probably listen to some it on Radio 2 later, because the lovely Russell Brand is presenting it. |

I've got an ECP (a.k.a carbon footprint thing) of 241. I should bloody well think so, considering even the busses I use are electric. And, I've also turned off my TV to save carbon emissions...that, and we don't even get to see Live Earth anyway! |
David Jones 07.07.2007 08:04 |
My thoughts exactly Zebonka12. Its seems hypocritical to me that they are gonna use all this electricity, fuel and energy to heighten awareness of a subject which the above is apparently the cause of. Great, so your using green knives and forks backstage and having English white wine instead of Champagne. We all know climate change is happening. If you like in the UK, just look out your window. This is summer. Basically Gore, your not an Irish gypo so don't bother. And its Wembley where the UK concert will be held, not Wimbledon. Reason set aside, a bit of an odd mix of bands really, but hopefully a better choice than the Princess Diana Concert last week! |
JoxerTheDeityPirate 07.07.2007 08:55 |
ive done my bit.ive turned my tv off so i dont have to watch this rubbish.no doubt it will feature all the usual do-gooding tree huggers that will say "do as i say and not as i do".dame Bonio will probably be at the front of queue prattling on about climate change while stamping his global carbon footprint all over the place. these scientists and meteologists that will no doubt tell us that we will all die in the next 20 years are the same people that cant tell me what the weather will be like next week. its all just an Al Gore ego trip. i propose that the 2 billion people that are rumoured to be watching it turn their tv's off and do something else instead before they destroy the world [if what al bore says is true, which he cant prove of course as his theories are all hyperthetical]. rant over,im off to the pub for a pint before that becomes illegal too ps this really should be in personal forum i think.. |

this live earth is a part of the plan for conditioning people into the new world order. |

Atheist wrote: this live earth is a part of the plan for conditioning people into the new world order. As if extremist atheists weren't part of it. As for Live Earth, all the huge amount of electric energy spent on lighting a stage and the fuel spent on transportation of equipment and the artists themselves, doesn't make much sense to me. If the point of this concert is to spread the message about conserving energy, then at least have small acoustic gigs. |
David Jones 07.07.2007 11:24 |
That would have been an interesting idea Mr. Jingles. Seeing loads of these modern bands doing acoustic sets. |
The Real Wizard 07.07.2007 11:48 |
Like Chris Cornell... has anyone heard his acoustic version of Billie Jean? Absolutely fantastic. If they did a Live Earth show with just him and his guitar for 6 hours, I'd be happy. :) |
Sergei. 07.07.2007 12:17 |
Ugh.... Live 8, Instant Karma, Concert for Diana, Live Earth... They just want another Live Aid or Freddie Mercury Tribute. Seems like all they're doing now is looking for reasons to have big benefit concerts. |
Mr.Jingles 07.07.2007 12:21 |

If they want to have something as successful as Live Aid, they can't spread it out like they are, having events at 5 or 6 different venues. Have NY or Philly and London, cram it with all the stars of today and the talented artists from back in the day and you may have something...... |
MyRotation 07.07.2007 13:56 |
This has nothing to do with the subject, but what does the word 'demise' mean? :) |

If this concert is for the good of the world, shouldn't they have done it all acoustically? |
Joeker 07.07.2007 16:16 |
oh well. The Police are gonna be there, thats the only good thing. |
QueenMercury46 07.07.2007 16:52 |
Tonight there is going to be a replay of it at eight but they are just highlights of it. Does anyone think that they're going to show the opening that has Roger Taylor and everything? Sorry to ask, but that's really all I wanted to see (except for Metallica and the Police) and I missed it. |

cutting off power won't help anything...clean power might... It's all about oil...and still is...saving energy will only buy the oil companies more time to sell their oil... Use 'green' energy and force electric companies to invest in wind, water and sun... BTW...I thought the Beasty Boys rocked hard and said it all with their song 'Sabotage'...!!! |
QueenSite 07.07.2007 18:39 |
the opening drum jam was boring and useless, sorry to say that. And that bit of "We will rock you" in the end was so cheesy.. |
The Real Wizard 08.07.2007 00:57 |
To those people who are "cleverly" seeing the irony of the fact that a concert is promoting energy preservation, did you know that the concert was carbon neutral? That's really quite an outstanding feat. If rock stars and singers can promote the idea of battling global warming and make it a cool subject for kids to talk about, then I'm all for it. It will put the basic awareness into their heads, and the ones who have any interest will research the topic themselves and take action. |

"To those people who are "cleverly" seeing the irony of the fact that a concert is promoting energy preservation, did you know that the concert was carbon neutral? I was referring to my own carbon emissions caused by my television :P Am I the only one disturbed by the fact that Spinal Tap wasn't nearly as bad as most of the real bands that day?? :/ I have a suggestion for Geldof, Gore and anyone else who wants to put on Live x event at y famous venue.... WAIT FOR SOME GOOD BANDS TO FORM. The current crop are fucking yawn-factories. |

Zebonka12 wrote: Am I the only one disturbed by the fact that Spinal Tap wasn't nearly as bad as most of the real bands that day?? :/LOL...yes indeed...I suspect Spinal Tap even to be a 'hot' cult band...twenty years from now...! Back to the subject...I realized that the kids of today obviously grow up with this kind of weather...they don't know how it was or used to be...for them it's just normal...and just normal that all the 'old' people keep whinning about that everything (including the weather!) was better back in the 'old' days... For that matter...this awareness isn't such a bad thing I was 14 with Live Aid...and I remember it was so enourmously impressive...but then again, we had Queen to play the best 25 minutes rock-set ever recorded in modern history... That reminds me that yesterday for the first time I enjoyed the set of Snow Patrol...I mean...I didn't switch the channel...lol! |
