I've been waiting for years to make a post like this. At last, I have my own domain, and a website about Queen concerts: link There is plenty of information of all sorts, pictures taken on specific dates, and cover art for recordings. For now, I only have the concert info up to 1975. I still have plenty of work to do, but I'll add in each year when I complete it, so keep checking back! I hope this will become some kind of haven for collectors, as I really have done everything I possibly can to document the information and recordings that are out there. Hope you all like the website! Any comments? Suggestions? I'm ready for them all. :) |
Mr. Scully 04.07.2007 04:22 |
This site has a potential to become an excellent source of information for all the collectors of live recordings. I will definitely link to your site and I hope you will keep on updating it :-) Only frequently updated sites can have success because visitors often come back. P.S. Small mistake in the javascript in menu2.htm - it should be "return true" instead of "returntrue". |
The Real Wizard 04.07.2007 04:24 |
Aha... I was wondering why that wasn't working properly. Thanks for your feedback, Martin. :) Our sites offer different things, so I can see them working hand in hand. |
YourValentine 04.07.2007 04:32 |
Nice website, Bob, congratulations :-) Lots of work to do, I do not envy you. Posting watermarked pictures is risky in my opinion but I know how much you want to have them:) |
The Real Wizard 04.07.2007 04:34 |
Thanks, Barbara. :) Yeah, you're right about the pictures. I went to the Repfoto site, and they seem pretty serious there. I'll just link to their site instead. |

Sir GH<br><h6>ah yeah</h6> wrote: Aha... I was wondering why that wasn't working properly. My site focuses on concerts and memorabilia etc. while yours will be mainly about recordings and bootlegs. Btw. you should learn PHP and databases, otherwise you will soon get annoyed of writing everything in HTML. Trust me :-) |
Harry_queenrecordings 04.07.2007 05:32 |
Now this is very good news! It looks very nice and great to see that your page is full with detailed information. This is going to be a great research for all collectors! Concratz with your new website Bob! |
violonbleu 04.07.2007 05:38 |
I'm not at all a collector, but I think it's really good what you are doing; will you concentrate into the Queen recordings or will you too include solo concerts, and the recent QPR concerts? But it doesn't really matter, anyhow it's a great source of information, for collectors and for the non-collectors, too. Thanks! |

Fantastic work, Bob! I enjoyed reading your Live Killers analysis again. The concert infos are great, too. Being a web designer and programmer myself, I second Mr. Scully's point: try to use the advantages of a dynamic PHP website, it saves you a lot of time. But we all know: content is most important, so don't bother too much about the technical side! |
Benn 04.07.2007 07:33 |
Bob - super work. Once again, the fanbase is able to do a job that those in official circles appear to be completely incapable of. Fingers crossed that the erstwhile Mr Brooks stops by there and learns...... |

Excellent work, Bob! Reading your website has "inspired" me to listen to Sheer Heart Attack again. This will become an essential website on the band, much like all the other truly great sites out there (Queenconcerts, Queencuttings, Queen Archives, Queenpedia, etc.). Also, thanks for launching this on my birthday ;) |

But a little suggestion, or maybe i'm wrong, but can Barbara or Richard move this topic to the new Collecting Thread?, Just to start to use it, since it was requested. I'm at work now, but i'll check it deeply when i get home and add it to my favourites. Congratulations again!!! P.S: Are you still chanting Chi-Chi-Chi Le-Le-Le Viva Chile??? xD Kidding |

Great site - thanks. I was especially taken with the Live Killers analysis; great work, thoroughly researched and presented with factual observations and detail to back up every point you make. I did think however after reading all the edit work done on the original LP (and in the days before PC editing, Pro Tools etc..!) it may however be worth adding a note to congratulate the original editors of the tapes to make what is, at first listen at least, a seamless live LP?!! |

Hello Bob your site is amazing it's really amazing I'm intrested in the early shows more than the latest and it's just perfect I always wanted to know from where does comes the killer queen documentary's video and here I almost found that it's "Preston, UK November 21, 1973" i had to think that this show's origin is unknown hey i'm really excited to see the next years about the pictures they are perfect i asked once to yourvalentine if it's possible to make the queenzone pictures section with dates so we can know which picture is from which show and here you are you've done that for us Thx BOB you're making things easy on us you're a great guy GOOD LUCK WITH THE NEXT ONES I WISH I HAD YOUR WILL OF WORK TO STUDY MY LESSONS ! |

dogwithabone 05.07.2007 08:06 |
Great website Bob!! The effort you have put into this seems to have really paid off. Although it's new there is plenty of information on there that Queen fans can rely on as being pretty accurate. I will be referring to this site constantly, as I'm sure most other Queenzoners will, to iron out those little inaccuracies you see time after time elsewhere. It niggles me when I come across blatant mistakes on other websites and books so it's great for you to take the trouble to do something like this. Keep up the great work!!!! |

Someone managed to get a decent enough video of BoRhap from last Sunday, and it's me doing the solo on stage: link It seems that some metal shredder in the comments didn't like my solo. All I can say is... note for note perfection is not all that it takes to be a professional. And - studio and live are two completely different things. Hope you like! What´s bad about it?- I think it´s Great. I play guitar, and believe me that i know it´s not easy to emulate Brian Phrasing because he has the tendency to play "out", between countings if you know what i mean. I don´t know how to explain better in english, but even guys at guitar techniques states this side of Brian playing. He has a very distinct phrasing because of this. I really think you´ve nailed it! Take care |
The Real Wizard 05.07.2007 17:57 |
You're right... Brian often plays behind the beat. But I'm not really trying to emulate him. He has definitely influenced me as a guitarist, but so have many others. There are points in the show (the Killer Queen solo, for instance) where we're trying to perfectly capture the LP, but there are just as many moments where you're simply being yourself. As you know, the guitar is a very personal instrument, and no two players are alike. But thanks for the kind words! That said, I can be pretty self-critical, but that's really the only way to keep improving. :) |
steven 35638 05.07.2007 18:06 |
Bob, I hadn't the slightest clue you played guitar for We Will Rock You in Toronto! Congratulations and you sounded terrific in that video! I was impressed and I'm sure Brian May is as well. :) Ramirez |

It´s a way of expression, and each one expresses in different ways. That´s what some people don´t realize in this forum when they´re trying to say who´s the best. Before i started to play guitar i was very arrogant and could only hear Brian. I was like Atheist talking about Brian (OK, maybe not ; ) But now, i feel so humble watching the great guitar players out there. The time they´ve put to master the instrument. I feel that Allan Holdsworth is out of this world, but have you ever listen to a guy named Shawn Lane? Because Shawn Lane had achieved a level on the instrument that is beyond comphreension. And he was the most sweet guy on earth. Very humble! One of his goals was to play Art Tatum music on guitar, and Indian stuff too! Look how he breaks the pentatonic scale: link link Even though we don´t need to play like this, i´ve discover that doing some excercises will improve our technique. Take care |
The Real Wizard 06.07.2007 00:13 |
Ah yes... Shawn Lane. Simply put... most people will never have the tools to begin to understand what Shawn Lane was all about. They think he's just playing a bunch of random garbage, but they couldn't be further from the truth. He was pure genius. |

I'm dying to see the other years, but until 1975 there is a huge work that has been done !!!! Will we one day find on the web a similar website permitting us to HEAR the gigs as well ???? That would be an over-the-top website... We can't stop just dreaming about that !!! Well, your work is great, the artwork section is that precious to us all, and your comments are that great to buy the good stuff and let the crappy stuff aside.... You're the champion of the bootleg world, man !!! Congratulations !!!!! Hey, you, queenies, if you hadn't time yet to see this website, what are you waiting for ? And say a big thank you to Bob....
