I haven't been in here in ages but I heard one of the dj's on the local classic rock station say that Queen were coming out with a box set collection of archived concert footage this summer and they would be given listeners a chance to win it soon. I was just seeing if anyone knew. The search feature needs to be more advanced it's almost impossible to find anything, toodles.
I haven't heard anything about this. I've heard about a new Montreal (I think that's what is is anyway) DVD coming out, but nothing like this. Anybody wish to enlighten us?
HERE YA GO :):
As previously reported, Chrome Dreams has set a June 26 release date for QUEEN's "Collector's Box" DVD set. According to the official product description, "Collector's Box" is a two-DVD documentary set that "proves at length why this legendary group are still dearly loved by so many. This first disc tells the full story of the band and their entire career, pointing the cameras where they have never previously preyed. The second focuses on their music in the 1970s, with footage of classic songs and photographs even the most hardcore fan will be surprised to see. The list of exclusive commentators across both the films includes friends of the band such as Paul Gambaccini, Wayne Sleep and Peter Stringfellow, journalists such as Daryl Easlea and Nigel Williamson, and a host of others."
I need to barf. Paul Gambaccini is the "friend" of just about ANY band that ever had a DVD made about them, from ABBA to the Sex Pistols.
He is a real expert, from whom I've learned that Freddie was gay and flamboyant, Brian a great guitarist and John rather shy. Perhaps this is the DVD where he reveals that Roger is a blonde.
Bring on Paul..................again.
I can't stand him neither... He is on EVERY damn documentary dvd I've got and he often reveals he knows little about what he's talking about.
Here's one of these pearls on VH1's "Best 100 Albums of all time":
"There was nothing really special about ANATO, but Bohemiasn Rhapsody is one of the best singles of all time, so ANATO should be one of the best albums of all time"
You're all morons. You've got it arse about. Band members only turn up for interviews because the documentaries are actually about Paul Gambaccini. Isn't it obvious!?!?
