every band who has made an album always make extra tracks.say two extras that are never used.what happens to those extra tracks,i assume they were recorded.after all the queen albums that were made there must be at least fifty or more tracks somewhere.or were they all deleted.or maybe some sound engineer has the greatest selection of never released queen songs.
Yup.
Newsflash to topic-starter:
Albums are usually created by assembling part of what was written and, sometimes or usually (depending on the band), recorded, in order to create a coherent whole of, usually, roughly 40-50 minutes' length.
Oh dear...
I recorded a band here at home and all the songs they did, ended up on the album. They never did anything that wasn't going towards the album. There were plenty of alternate takes, though.
So, never make the assumption that there are always spare tracks. Especially because it costs a shitload of money and extra time in the studio. Not to mention, legalities can arise from unused songs that later wish to be re-used/re-recorded.
Most bands that have a clue don't want to complicate the process and simply adopt the "get in and get out" nature. Though, some can afford the time to "dabble" in the studio. Queen got those chances to dabble. But I wonder how much of that process was liked by them. Hmm...
Adam.
