R.I.P. Mike Grose, Gerry Stickells and Tony Pike!

We are sad to hear of the passing of Queen's very first bass player - Mike Grose. Mike, you can be proud, you witnessed the birth of a legend and you were part of the band's history! Rest in peace...

On the very same day the world also lost Gerry Stickells, the band's famous tour manager. This guy was a legend, you can see him in almost every documentary.

And just two weeks ago Tony Pike, founder of Ibiza's legendary Pike Hotel, has died. I highly recommend you to watch the last interview he gave, it's very funny! His life was about sex, drugs and celebrities and Freddie's famous birthday party must have been unforgettable!

Queen at the Academy Awards (Oscars)

Queen + Adam Lambert at the 2019 Academy Awards

I do not like this family movie about Freddie where half of the facts are wrong, many other facts are intentionally ignored and the whole band looks like a bunch of Sunday school scholars. It's obviously a movie for the general audience, not for Queen fans. But the movie has been incredibly successful (it also increased the prices of all Queen memorabilia by 200% :-() and Queen were invited to play at the 2019 Academy Awards on Sunday February 24 - so this special performance must be included in our database, of course ;-)

Queen Locations - new website!

Judit from Barcelona launched a special site dedicated to Queen-related places in London or Barcelona and she plans to do the same for Munich or Tokyo. I think she did a great job - visit her QueenLocations website, it's basically an updated version of what I did many years ago ;-)

Fake handwritten setlist on ebay!

FAKE Queen setlist - fake Freddie's handwriting

Many if you have seen this fake Queen setlist on ebay. Not only is the price absolutely silly but the setlist is obviously fake! It's disgusting how many people are trying to make money on the success of the movie but that's life. Freddie has NEVER!!! (apart from the early days) written a setlist. There has also almost NEVER!!! been a Queen setlist written for just one concert. Everything is explained in the stage setlists section where you can also see a rare genuine Queen setlist from the 70's (thank you, Vera). Basically all the Queen setlists were written by the roadies and they were valid for most of the tour (until they were rewritten too many times and trashed). Ask Peter Hince or Chris Taylor or any other Queen roadies about those things! (Also the Freddie's handwriting itself is obviously fake - it's quite good but not THAT good. It's the very same style as on the fake 'Princes Of The Universe' lyrics).

On this day [March 19]
