Would someone please tell me about these shows please. Were they sold out?i have heard all of the same stories about battery confiscation and the like, but could someone tell me how the shows went down.was freddie in good voice? thanks
Haven't you heard any of the audio files posted here on Queenzone about it?
This subjet has been dealt with several times before.
-The three concerts in Mexico were sold out, and some people even stood outside the venues.
-Freddie's voice was at its peak.
-QUEEN gigs in Mexico as well as those held in the 80's are among the best Queen concerts ever in my opinion. (We must remember Queen always have given their best alive).
-Something not very many people know is that:
QUEEN were with some press people at a night club in the Pink Zone in Mexico city, this was an informal gathering organized by Jim Beach for some fortunate showbiz people as a compensation since Queen were not able to give a press conference at the airport (due to the fact that the place was chaotic- very crowded). A friend of mine attended such gathering. Jim Beach invited them on one condition : Not to tell a word about it to anyone, if any journalist or camera were seen at the place, the event would be cancelled.
-The event was held, and even Freddie sat at the piano and played something, unfortunately my friend (a reliable BEATLE know-all Fan who some time before got to talk to JOHN LENNON on the phone)can't remeber what tune it was, because he was quite impressed at being with one of the most popular groups at the time.
