So, the reason I'm hunting for a relatively clean live version of "Now I'm Here" from the ADATR/NOTW tours is because I greatly prefer the live, "fast" version to the studio one. For one, it's got an awesome ending when performed live, and two, the faster guitar and drums are great. It's like the difference between listening to the album cut of KISS' "I Was Made for Loving You" versus watching a live performance of it with Eric Carr on drums. So much more energy than the fairly standard rocker (or disco, in the case of the KISS song).
Anyone have any suggestions for a good soundboard show to download to get this song? The Houston '77 version is good, but Freddie's voice is drowned out. Earl's Court is also a pretty good recording, but were there any truly knockout-quality soundboard recordings of the song during this era, or are Houston and Earl's Court as good as they came?

Sorry, i never even knew there was one. I knew there was Fast WWRY, but NIH was always kinda speedy to me, how much faster would they of been playing it?
Well, the 1974 tour had the slow version (watch the Live At The Rainbow video, for example). The 1974 version is the closest to the original, which is obvious. I always liked the way it was played in the beginning. A great opening song. Later on, it was played in a different way and indeed: faster.

You got it. You must be incredibly picky if you think the Houston soundboard isn't a good mix! Freddie is mixed a tad low, but it's still a good mix (never mind that it's a bootleg), I think!
Your next best bet is Munich 2-11-79. I'll upload a good version of that show in a bit... hang on!
Thanks Sir GH--I'm not so much picky as I am always looking out for a better version, and Houston is an excellent version regardless. I use it on my Queen mix set for LOML because it's probably the clearest acoustic version that doesn't have random screams from the crowd throughout.
The Live Killers "Now I'm Here" from '79 is great! I also like the We Will Rock You DVD version (though that's from '81). I guess I never noticed them being faster, just longer and more developed with more energy....
