Queen
Stadhalle, Vienna
May 2nd, 1978
This is the definitive version of a great Queen concert from the News Of The World tour.
Lineage: AUD > Master > Cassette (2) > WAV > CDR(x) > EAC > WAV > FLAC (Flac Frontend level 8)
The person who recorded this show lost his master tape in a flood, and lucky for us he had backed it up. He refused to copy his first generation tape to CDR, but he didn't mind copying it to another tape, which was then burned to CDR, and what we have here. This recording is a major upgrade, much better than the "Last European News" bootleg on the Gypsy Eye label. They manage to mutilate almost anything that comes their way before they release it. Their version was very tinny and hissy, and they omitted Keep Yourself Alive for good measure. But this second generation copy is as clean as it will get, and I'd give it a VG+ rating. Nice, stable sound. Similar setlist to the Houston 77 concert on the previous leg of the tour:
Disc 1:
1. We Will Rock You slow/fast
2. Brighton Rock
3. Somebody To Love
4. Death On Two Legs
5. Killer Queen
6. Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy
7. I'm In Love With My Car
8. Get Down Make Love
9. The Millionaire Waltz
10. You're My Best Friend
11. Spread Your Wings
12. It's Late
13. Now I'm Here
14. Love Of My Life
15. '39
16. My Melancholy Blues
Disc 2:
1. White Man
2. The Prophet's Song / Guitar Solo / The Prophet's Song (Reprise)
3. Stone Cold Crazy
4. Bohemian Rhapsody
5. Keep Yourself Alive
6. Tie Your Mother Down
7. We Will Rock You
8. We Are The Champions
9. Sheer Heart Attack
10. Jailhouse Rock
11. God Save The Queen
This was shared originally by SirGH (the man who restored the quality standards on Queenzone!), so please direct your thanks to him.
This show is a good one from one of my favourite tours, with a fantastic setlist. The sound quality is high above the Queen average. You'll love it!

This torrent was never started, because when I asked for permission, I didn't get it. It's part of the EMI top 100 bootleg series, so it is a bit problematic for DIME.
I don't think, that every torrent on Dime needs to be announced here. Most people, who have an account there, are up to date with new torrents there.

Remember... logic is optional!
It's part of the EMI top 100 bootleg series, so it is a bit problematic for DIME.
Ever tried bootcity (or tapecity, their new name)? Mention the word "lossy" and you're out! DIME has strict rules but they give you a second (or third) try. And they have moderators you can discuss with. Not stupid algorithms that ban you for lifetime because someone else has registered with the same IP address as you :-(
Hang on...if mahler claims to be a key mover in the resurrection of dime after it's accidental use of offiical material...shouldn't he be more circumspect in what he himself posts links to?
A touch hypocritical to link to stuff he clearly has no idea of the veracity of...
