Brian May. He must have a toilet that says, everytime he flushes, Brian, you're so great. Brian everybody loves you. You are the best. Just to enhance his ego. |

In the year of '47 this pretty boy was born God was happy i was there They called me mr.may and I heard the neighbours say The sweetest child ever seen And the night followed day And my lucky stars said i was going to be big For many a cool, hot guy sang pretty songs, lovely words Never put down, never lost, always great. Don't you buy my stuff cause my songs’re great anyway Don't you give me money, you Write my name on your hand For the day I’m your friend And you buy my cd’s of course. In the year of '65 everybody was in awe The big cash came in that day And it brings me a good reputation i dreamed of. And i’m still a selfish, great guy. For the earth is old and grey, but i am not this way Im still gorgeous as ever. For so many years have gone though I'm older but still cool. Your pocket money from your wallet, give to me. don't you buy my songs though you're broke anyway Don't you worship mighty may All the people on the stage cannot be like me,great. This is a bit ridiculous, frankly I don't see what would make Brian such an egomaniac. Look at Gene Simmons! Or Jimmy Page! Brian is very humble compared to those guys. |

At least he's not like Justin Timberlake, who claimed to have raised McDonalds worldwide profits by 25% because he was on those "I'm lovin it" ads. That is a Tui billboard if ever I've seen one. |

I spent hours with Brian earlier this month at WWRY. He is one of the kindest, most humble, selfless, and diplomatic people I've ever met. He is one of those few people who carries an aura around him. Don't think you're all clever by emphasizing the "May" in that word. It's been done before. That said, maybe all you Freddie fans (you're surely not Queen fans) could provide some substance to what you're saying. What has Brian done that makes him such an egomaniac? |

Get over yourself!...Anyway, brian isn't any more a ego maniac than freddie was and freddie was a diva on top of that. The only people who care about these things are kids who have nothing better to do. In my view brian is a humble fella, and even freddie in his later years calmed down the diva act. Just enjoy the music, and forget the other shit. NO one's perfect! |

Well, I think he already explained that he wasn't happy with the sound quality in the previous releases, so he had JB buy the material from the original owner, his sound techs put the sound "right" and QP release it for the "first" time. Previous releases were from the company that originally owned the publishing rights, not related to QP, so from his point of view this is not a re-release, but the first proper release. :P FWIW |

Of course, he has the right to do anything with his music, but Queen has a reputation of recycling releases time after time. It's time that Brian steps out of his Mr. Perfectionist-position. Maybe he should shed some more light on the fans' point-of-view. When he does that, please wake me up. :) |

<font color=blue>Rick wrote: It's time that Brian steps out of his Mr. Perfectionist-positionAFAIK he simply can't: it looks like an ingrained personality trait (= a compulsive disorder) that he was born with and has very little to no control over. Someone close to me has it too, and it drives me really mad sometimes - no matter how hard one tries, it can only be overcome for a very short time, but then comes back worse than before. |

The threads tearing down Brian (egomaniac/money-grubber) or Freddie (gay/AIDS) serve no constructive purpose. They are just a plea for attention and a stroke of THEIR egos. Darn! And I told myself I wasn't going to get sucked in this time! Attention seekers--you win again! *waves white surrender flag* |

Brian has about the smallest ego of any rock star ever (which is probably still bigger than a normal person's, but, compared to other rock stars, very small). But because he has a reputation as a nice guy, he's subjected to harsher scrutiny and when he does occasionally do or say something a tiny bit outrageous everyone puts it under the fucking microscope and overanalyses it and makes a massive deal out of it. If Roger (or Freddie if he was still around) did or said any of the supposedly terrible things Brian has recently, no-one would give a shit.. |

i met him at WWRY, at waterstones, and i bumped into him in the street once.
