Hi. I'm being selfish. This thread is about me. And about me asking for your help, even though I know well enough that I don't deserve anything from you. I'm posting this here because my "blog" seems to only attract people who already like me, or at least say they do. And because I know people here aren't bothered by being "mean" or "rude" if that's what they feel like doing. So, I wanted some opinions on my singing, because I really want to stop making a fool of myself if it's bad. My mother says "all you need is passion" - but I've heard people who can't sing, and I don't think "passion" is going to help, unless it's the passion to sing badly. link I don't know any other way to upload it. I'm not going to make excuses for poor quality, because I know well that anything wrong is MY fault. So, please, rip me a new one. :) |

^ I was, about something else. I just want to get a little clarification in my life. I'm tired of singing, or trying to be better at it. I'm tired of wanting to "do something" that EVERYONE wants to do. I do appreciate you... But I'm looking for people to "bring me down". I just don't want to try any more, and it's much easier to decide that with validation that one shouldn't be trying. I just wish there was more meanness. :P |

I think you sing pwetty, Charles, friend....But if you want meanness...THAT WAS HORRIBLE! YOU SUCK! NEVER SING AGAIN! There. I hope that makes you feel better. :P |

^ : P Thanks. What I would really like is "constructive criticism" - but I don't expect to find that here, or it seems, ANYWHERE in my life. I have hope in life because I AM QUANTIFIABLE GOOD AT INDEXING FILES. |

Kelly/Charles: You're voice is really nice. By that I mean the timbre, the actual tone of YOUR voice. Pretty, as mentioned earlier, is an apt word. You're most of the way there in my book, as first and foremost a voice needs to be appealing rather than just in tune. And you're voice appeals to me. But there are occasions in your sample where you're a bit 'pitchy' (to quote Randy Jackson...); mainly when you're picking out a part from a harmonised backing-vocal or singing a quicker passage. This can easily be fixed by practice or training however, as you clearly have an ear for singing very definitely in tune, as when you hit a note and land on it, you hold it very well. I like it. Keep up the good work. |

hello kelly me dear, im here!!! i mean it when i say this (not sure if its a compliment or insult) but you reminded me of emmy rossum! same tone ;-) sounds like you had some trouble on the lower notes! i suggest to try and relax when you sing lower. honestly? not bad, not great. id say it leans more toward the great side. i can say its tough to sing without accompaniment, so its kinda a handicap. i think when you record, you should sing along with the music in the background to keep you in rhythm. however, i think there needs to be a bit of work on pronunciation. you sound kinda nasally on some parts (i also have to work on this) which gives you a childish sound. also i noticed on the 'l' words, you would breath a bit, giving the sound of an 'h' example: hlove of my hlife :p it just sounds a little forced. i think really all you need to do is try to relax more. it will help build range, especially in the lower register. its a fairly difficult sound, especially with the harmonies, to pick which suits best to keep the song going. id like you to try again, maybe trying the live version of this song? i hope im not overly critical :/ |

^ I'm not going to quote all that. = o But thank you too for taking time ! If she's who I'm thinking of, I'm not offended (plus, we're about the same age :P) - I thought she did a great job in that movie (...not so hot on the phantom) ! I'll try harder, if I keep singing as a hobby. I just don't think much of Queen suits my voice (if I can be so vain to think ANYTHING suits it). Don't worry about being overly-critical. I don't think you were, and that's what I want, anyway ! |

I like yor singing. But maybe it would be better if you didnt vibrate your voice so much after each sentence. But that's just me. In fact I do not have any musical knowledge, so forgive me if I'm wrong. : P But keep on singing, because your voice is great, much better and harmonious than the majority peoples' voice! : D |

Is the reason you don't want to sing anymore because you don't have the passion for it or because you doubt yourself? You all mean a great deal to me, so its nice to know you appreciate me, thanks. And i hope you enjoyed yourself in the land of the Chippewas. and becasue one may doubt theirselves, or others, they feel they lose the passion for it. no matter what, dont give up. its admirable that you want to improve, becasue it means you really are passionate about singing. |
